The Deus Ex Human Revolution collector's edition was pretty good for its price, though I only managed to get the augmented edition because the collector's edition was sold out everywhere :(
Speaking of this, I got the dogmented edition on Steam for my birthday. How do I even access that extra stuff?
If you ask me all games should come with a map, making of DVD or something. When I'm paying £50 for a new game I'd expect something extra for it.

With my small "bright red and shit" i can easily kick the dick of woodsballplayers if i decide to throw meself into woodball (which is pretty rare because i play on millenium stages)
^why most woods guys hate speedballers. "Yeah I am so much better look at me guys yeah fucking better than you".
Anyway, take it to paintball chat :v

Never gets old.
Halo Reach had the best collector's edition by far. I had a ton of fun reading through Halsey's journal, along with all the little goodies that came with it.
Game companies should start to sell collectors editions' items.
They would get more money and we would get these items like that dragon statue for example.
Those Polish Special Editions need to be internationalized!
I wish this came to the US.
That's another thing, I hate how some special editions / collector's editions are only available in other countries. Why not just make all editions available in all countries?
Example - Assassin's Creed II:

^EU / AU (The best one. Comes with the most shit, and a better looking statue.)

^North America
After much complaining from Assassin's Creed II fans that they were unable to complete the game due to the need to complete the three Templar Lairs (only available on the White or Black Editions) to earn 100% synchronisation, Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed II: The Complete Edition.
Eventually Assassin's Creed II: Deluxe Edition was also released, containing the three bonus areas & missions and the downloadable content Battle of Forlì and Bonfire of the Vanities. This Edition, however, is only available via Digital Download.
So what the fuck? There were 6 editions of this game if you include the regular-edition.

That's ANOTHER thing, making 100% completion impossible without DLC is fucking bullshit. DLC should be *extra* content, not content required to 100% a game.
It's like if I bought a pie, and they gave me a pie with a piece missing. "Oh sorry you have to buy the extra slice if you want to eat 100% of this pie"
/end rant
i bet you get all the girls
As it only has a F on the shirt, the girls probably do not know what the F stands for and do not care.
They probably think that it is just some nice logo.
Also, If you do not like them, do not buy them. Easy, isn't it?
I will buy Skyrim collectors because I owe it to bethesda for reasons I can't tell on this forum.
I will buy Skyrim collectors because I owe it to bethesda for reasons I can't tell on this forum.
tell us, we won't tell.
I like the idea of what the Fallout: New Vegas CE did with the chips. In games items in real life. I like that it's not like a shitty replica of a gun but just simple poker chips. I find that pretty cool
The most functional special edition version of a game i ever bought was the GTA IV special edition:

That lockbox holds some important things in it for me, and i use the duffle bag for the gym.
I've never bought a limited/collector's edition of anything, it just seems like a bunch of overpriced swag.
I'm waiting for the day when they release the CE/LE swag and the actual game separately
That will be hilarious

$25, you get a T-shirt + poster (mine was signed) + deluxe edition CD/DVD with a little lyrics + art book.
Usually just a T-shirt alone is $25+, that was a good goddamn deal.

$100, The only good thing about it is Elite & the Briefing book.

packaging in general is just kind of fading away too, just think of the old giant boxes that pc games use to come in.
like the giant ass half life box
Usually the Halo Legendary Editions are packed with some really nice shit and stuff that's actually rare (xbox 360 making of disc)
I really need to buy the Bioshock 2 special edition some day. The soundtrack on vinyl plus that gorgous art book totally make it worth buying a game I've already bought and played through.

dem trapezoidal prism boxes were awesome back in the day...
The World of Warcraft Collectors editions are cool.
they are the exact same for each expansion but it's alot of stuff for 70$ (mousepad, Hardcover art book, soundtrack, in-game items, Durable collectors box, Behind the Scenes DVD, etc.)

the artbook is usually about 200-300 pages worth of content and all of it is awesome, well worth the £50 imo.
I bought the limited edition for Marvel vs Capcom 3 and the only difference was the box. Then again, it was only £2 more. The same goes for Devil May Cry 4, the limited edition was just the game in a shiny box with a tiny 4 page book of drawings alongside it.
The last two I bought (Call of Pripyat German Special Edition with the lighter and DE:HR Augmented Edition) were pretty neat.
