Yeah some of us are actually civilized liberals, not like those retard fuckface flyover state losers who are voting for Trump. A bunch of uneducated inhuman scum brain-washed by literal Hitler incarnate. Thank you for understanding, oh European masterrace. Fat White Lump isn't the smartest poster, and neither am I. But being on a largely liberal site for almost half of my lifetime just opens my eyes to how political shit flies between people. People will have hatred for whoever is in opposition of their viewpoint. And it's only encouraged even further because only like-minded people will cling together and preach to their own choir. When I lived in Vermont teachers used to show pictures of Bush as Hitler as a laugh. Now I live in Utah and when I was in highschool teachers showed facebook memes of Obama as Hitler as a laugh. People are so fucking predictable. All I know is that it will all just go away soon and we will have a president and people will just have to suck it up no matter who gets elected and things will be back to normal. I fucking hate election time so much.
yeah you missed the point of my post. im not apologizing that hes not liberal. im apologizing that we as a society have created people that refuse to listen to any view point that they dont like (while ironically accusing others of doing the same). americans get made fun of a lot on the internet for being stupid idiots, and people like fat white lump are the reason that happens. i dont dislike him because of his opinions. i could not care less about that. i do care that he, as an american, is representative of us. and boy is he a shitty one.
People upset at the title of the thread didn't watch the video because it's blatantly clear to anyone with at least half a brain that Sanders was talking about being poor in the context of being poor and black. All the usual Facepunch suspects without at least half a brain are out in force in the first few pages of the thread
You are treading a dangerous path when you start to favourable fill in what you want to hear from your politician. Sanders phrased it badly and in result made a comment that polarizes. I have read many comments of minorities that are very enthousiastic to share how little white people know about what poverty is, yet they have no fucking clue what poverty is like in the Midwest that is majority white poverty. There have been plenty of posts on the Sanders subreddit where Bernie voters would like to have the comment explained, since they are from those Midwest towns. Sanders picked a bad way of phrasing it and shouldn't have said it. He should've stayed with examples that white people don't come in contact with. Getting dragged out of your car and being harassed by cops is a lot illustrative, mentioning gangs would've been a lot better here.
Wew this thread was quite a read

It's not what Bernies views are that bothers people, it's the phrasing he used in this particular instance that people are unhappy about. He later apologized and corrected himself (which I think somebody mentioned previously in this thread) and I don't think it's what he actually meant so it's all good now, but that doesn't make what he originally said not incorrect as a statement. Or in other words:
