I'm falling asleep now.
They're gonna switch to democracy for every little problem now.
There will never be another thing like the ledge.
Where's the fun in that?

I quoted you earlier too! I just changed my name this morning ;p

this is awful
What's with the new system? Can someone fill me in?
The vote for Demo/Anar should only be an option if we get stuck in a place for more than 24 hours (like the TR hideout)
Y/N?

Anarchy - same system as before, everyone inputs commands and they're executed whenever
Democracy - people vote on inputs, can chain inputs together too like upupup or left3 or right4, etc.
Here's what democracy looks like to those that didn't see it on the other page:

almost there guys!
It's not a great system but it's the only way we'll ever get past the safari zone :v:

Information
Anarchy and Democracy
TwitchPlaysPokemon now has two modes, anarchy and democracy.
Anarchy mode is the "old" mode, where everyone's inputs are applied immediately.
Democracy mode is vote-based and has a more sophisticated input system.
In order to switch from one mode to the other, the mode that isn't active needs 75% of votes as indicated by the dotted line, the current percentage of votes is indicated by the black line.
In democracy mode you can compile a sequence of inputs. left2 will move left twice, left2down2 will move left twice and down twice.

Wow, this whole Anarchy/Democracy system is stupid. It should just be put back to how it was before.
Democracy gets nothing done with start being constantly pressed, and when there's Anarchy everyone is either still voting or entering completely random input.
When it was solely Anarchy, at least there was an effort to try and get somewhere.
Sounds like Congress.

Anarchy won't work for the safari zone though.

even with democracy i'm pretty sure stream delay and foolishness will end up wasting all our steps in the end

Didn't the stream creator say the step limit in the Safari Zone would be removed?
The stream delay is 2-3 vote cycles.
Delay also depends on the quality of the video. Bad quality seems to be about 40 seconds while good quality is about 25.

Watch using Source quality mode if possible. Minimum delay because there's almost no compression going on.
Smart move on the streamer's part to stay anonymous, because i'm sure there are people that would actively seek to fucking kill him/her for introducing the voting system.

well, he/she/zir didn't exactly predict that the chat would go full retard about the option and fight over the mode constantly rather than actually input crap

I don't know what stream you were watching, but with democracy we managed to get through the maze and get the lift key within an hour. Now in anarchy they are buggering off into a forest.
That being said, the main problem I see with this system is that now 3/4 of people are voting for democracy/anarchy and not actually playing the game. I guess I have to agree with what others have said that democracy should only be used for emergencies, but at the same time the creator seems like he's trying his best to keep this autonomous.
Voting would go a lot faster if people actually used commands like up3, down2, left4, right8

With democracy we wouldn't have all the great/tragic moments that spawn from having anarchy - things just feel less triumphant when it's no longer 85,000 people at the same time playing a game and instead we're playing a voting game. Anarchy is better for the long run, democracy is for shortsighted people.

The only problem is that they wont keep democracy for emergencies, but when it gets a bit tough.
Stuff like the ledge and releasing abby/jay would never happen in democracy mode.
"let's make this experiment" "it's fun because of how hectic it is and how many things can accidentally happen! even lore is being created!"
"ok now let's take the hectic nature out"
Politics simulator 2014
I kinda agree, the problem would've solved itself as soon as the interest died down because of being stuck in the maze, taking away the chaos-factor is more of a loss than the gains from making progress.

Guess he wanted to surf the popularity-wave for longer.

this made the start9 thing happen
never again
Well I'll be damned, we actually do have the lift key. So I guess now we're off to fight Giovanni... which explains why we are hopelessly stuck outside.
So Drowzee is now referred to as "The Keeper" apparently
Also, I hope they remedy this voting situation soon to make it a little less fun-ruining...
This is like if someone played pokemon with a complete RNG, two scripts set to try to follow different walkthroughs and a script set to do everything opposite of the walkthroughs.
someone did play pokemon with an RNG, it got stuck in a corner, and had to be reset
They just released Flareon
