comparing this to post-processing is like comparing make-up to destructive plastic surgery
Photography is a two-step process. The post processing stage of photography is just as much part of the creative process as the actual shot. As a hobbyist photographer, I know that no one uses completely unedited photos.
Yes but the way you're talking about is usually just simple things like colour correction or added depth of field. These images use a LOT of digital manipulation in-fact I'd say these images barely retain any resemblance to the originals other than some minor parts of the buildings.
comparing this to post-processing is like comparing make-up to destructive plastic surgery
True, but I still wouldn't count the fact that this is mainly post processing as a knock against its qualifications as art
i don't even know what we're arguing about anymore bottom line is that these pictures are art. they're art because they are created to evoke some emotional response and they do that to some degree that said, they don't deserve the public recognition they are receiving because they are not original nor are they impressive in the field
Fair enough I won't rag on them being defined as art but yeah, getting this kind of coverage seems pretty unfair.
I want this to be a game, and I want to play that game.
That looks alot like killing floor.

That's awesome. Just imagine walking alone around those areas.
I have walked around those places and they look like they do in the pictures, except not apocalyptic.
