In my opinion, I believe so. In prehistoric times, during the Neolithic Era, males used to go hunting and that required a lot of physical strength and stamina, so males evolved to handle more physical strength, and even now, there are more males than females in sports that require physical strength, such as American football, also more male soldiers than female soldiers.
As for mentally, all you have to do is Google "top 10 smartest humans", and you'll find that all of them are males.

Really?
http://www.toptenstuffs.com/top-10-smartest-people-in-the-world/people
Depends on what category you are rating people. If you rate them according to body height and say that the taller the better than yes in general females are inferior. If you rate them according to their social intelligence, then usually males are inferior to females.
I think that any major measures of difference that might indicate inferior is entirely due to ye olde glass ceiling. There may be some minor differences but I can't see them being so great that you could reliably say that women are inferior because you can take an above average man and compare him with the smartest woman and she'll still be superior. The spread is so large you'll never prove that men are superior with any authority.
All this discussion will do is pander to misogynists.
Of course they are. Don't get me wrong, women can and will be stronger in certain attributes that men would have no clue how to deal with. Just like men are stronger in certain attributes that women wouldn't be.
There is always going to be a gender inequality. In terms of social status, money, power. It's always going to be there.

Be optimistic now. Keep enforcing the idea that men and women are equal and one day they will be.

Pretty much, yes.

Sports and military is irrelevant. If women have less interest in these areas of course they are going to have the same numbers participating, but that doesn't make the them inferior. Are you in the military? If not, does that make you inferior to a female soldier?
Why even the need to debate who's more superior? There are men and women out there who do great things, there are also men and women out there who are complete bags of shit. Treat everyone as an individual rather than trying to associate them based off some arbitrary rating system.

Not really. At least, not unless a way to completely alter our genetic makeup on a global scale is created.
Males and females are genetically different. A lot of the difference is societal, but the difference in genetics cannot be denied.

I don't think that difference from genetics is visible in the slightest on the surface. If you remove the societal differences.
Did OP seriously register to post this bull fuck?
EDIT: I immediately regret posting this, lol. Sorry, Melanthius, I'm just angry at these gender debates lately and it seemed like this was your first ever post.

So, what is that supposed to mean? Why would genetics make one sex intrinsically superior to the other?
[editline]20th September 2014[/editline]
also I refuse to believe this isn't a troll thread
Recent discoveries proven the hunters men and gatherers women prehistoric split to be bogus. Everyone scavenged, and strenght wasn't part of the equation while hunting then, because we mainly hunted by endurance pursuit. That mean men could and did pick up berries, and women could and did run after game.
It wasn't then that 'men evolved more strenght and stamina'. Bigger male individuals is something we have in common with our close relatives of the animal world, it predates hunters/gatherers times by a lot of time.
Said undeniable phisical differences in strenght and stamina that are in our DNA is why in competitive sports, such as football since you named it, and in the olimpics, women and men play in different leagues for the sake of fair game. That doesn't mean women are inferior- I am no expert in running, and were I to compete in a run against a trained woman, I'd 100% lose the competition.
There are more men than women in the military. However, the whole argument is not relevant. I do not believe that presence in the armed forces is an indicator of superiority or inferiority by any mean.
As far as 'intelligence' go, all you need to do is look at any university application data. There are more women than men that are appling for higher education, even right now, and numbers are still raising.
I don't really see how this is a debate, you can never prove it either way and arguing as such is going to make you look sexist, mainly because there is no superior gender. It's literally like 'debating' what the superior race is.

You might want to look at the post I was quoting.
I am not saying that one is superior to the other, but that they are not equal, and cannot be.
I don't think that difference from genetics is visible in the slightest on the surface. If you remove the societal differences.
Genetics are extremely important.
I don't really see how this is a debate, you can never prove it either way and arguing as such is going to make you look sexist, mainly because there is no superior gender. It's literally like 'debating' what the superior race is.
You only sound and look sexist when people notice that, and generaly, said people catch on to that because they themselves are sexist aswell, if even just really down there.
(that is if you AREN'T actually being openly sexist)
Thing is, there are things males excel at over females, just like there are females who excel at other things over males, and sometimes they even break that rule, making up for a few of a certain gender who are also good at things that normaly only the opposite gender is good at.
There will never be complete equality because its two different genders. You can't treat them the same and you can't handle them the same. The equality you should reach for, however, is in stuff like salary and all that stuff that is bigger on one side for no reason other than its a he/she.
Genetics are extremely important.
Y...yes. Are they, given no impact socially, visible differences when a man and a women are compared? Just genetics? Science might say that there is a little extra capacity for fitness, a little less liklihood for this or that in the man, a little less in the woman from the genetics. But could the OP be given an isolatedd situation like that and clearly identify that the man is superior?
I don't think so. I am not necessarily correct though.
Genetics are extremely important.
Can you give some examples?
You might want to look at the post I was quoting.

I think I misunderstood what you were saying.
Can you give some examples?
Genetics determine your role in reproduction - that's pretty important. One sex literally cannot survive without the other. However, the social differences that come with genetics only exist because a social order was created by humans. There's nothing natural about how wealth relates to sex, for example.
Men and women have evolved different sets of traits. Women can multi-task better, read emotions better and communicate better. This is because they need to be able to take care of the young. The reason why there is such large sexual dimorphism between men and women is because of how smart we are. Because we stand upright, we have had our hips radically changed from our ancestors, and that makes the birthing canal much smaller, and so to compensate for that we must have our children much earlier in development than any other animals so our infants heads can fit through, that is also why giving birth is so damned dangerous to women. So because we give birth to these weak little half developed young we have to care for them for a much longer time than most species, as well as our development and maturity taking longer because so much energy goes into our brains. This means that one of the parents must care for the young during all this time and that's why women are smaller and less muscled and have many distinct traits. Women need to devote more energy to caring for young, while men are free to not have the burden of children and we're evolved to go out into the world and get resources to bring back. That's why men have better sense of direction, spacial awareness and other physical attributes. Our brains fire differently but together you get a functioning unit pair.
I feel that saying that men and women are completely the same in all capacties is silly, we are different, but neither is superior overall, just in specific tasks.
Men are naturally intelligent and innately strong whereas women are clearly weaker and genetically predisposed to be vain and shallow, dating based only on how verilie, "in-shape" and "hygienic" a potential breeding mate is rather than having a far superior intellect and clearly more refined, classy taste in things like fashion, anime and video games.

In conclude, what have you comparing is male have better survival abilities than female.
You do not compare a tiger with a shark by its ability on land hunting.
Male does have a better physical strength, and female have a better caring of their child.
The different between male and female is men are always being reckless and inobservant, women always care the great details.
Why will ever male smarter than female when men training for a better physical body as a superior precondition? And not every child take iq test, these are "smartest" people on the record.
Male are suppose to protect, and female suppose to care,
patriarchal society make us unconsciously think male are better than female.
Protect saves lives, care saves lives. Male and female are equal.

Obviously a sex discrimination.
If you not a biologist, don't use the word "genetically", use evidences.

Physically - to an extent. It's obvious men will generally be stronger and faster than women. Their muscle mass, physical build and a lot of other things would indicate it. On the other hand, women tend to have a higher treshhold of pain than men do and are able to reach a peak condition faster.
Mentally - well that's a completely different ballgame
I don't think that difference from genetics is visible in the slightest on the surface. If you remove the societal differences.
I'd say that is something that is patently false. Men and women aren't the same. That's not claiming one side or the other is inferior or not, but there's certain drives towards certain behaviour which does play in as well.
Sure, it's nature vs nurture again, but claiming neither side has some validity would be a mistake.

Its that they should be treated as equals is what most feminists argue for. 90% of people acknowledge the physical differences.
