These articles only talk about one sided color blindness, not on all levels.
i said it could be better. NO race was created equal in the first place as well either. each and every race on the planet has as many differing physiological traits as the next. but here's the kicker, women and men inherently have different body structures, plus the difference between a man and a woman is night and day compared to say from america of the same sex with someone from a completely different country. it's not sexism if there are obvious differences between genders that are WAY bigger differences than ones between races.
k but u missed the point of what i said
what does have to do with equal rights and feminism
you said:
it's just funny to me when femminists want everything to be perfectly equal
would you say that people from different races shouldn't be equal either? or is there some important reason why people from different races can have equality but women can't.
power of the pussy doesn't apply to anyone. in fact it more applies to women who in general consider themselves to be feminists or whatever, just to empower themselves or something because they're young and need some kind of ideology to grasp onto. i have no fucking idea where you live but around here there's so much of that false feminism it makes me want to gag.
it's a complete double standard they just love to play out. i'm also referring to specific people i know and also in general people who are like them, i'm not referring to femminists, women in general or anything like that. i'm referring to a group of people who are female and love to play the equality card when it's great for them, but as soon as it sucks to be equal they put it away and let someone else do it.t
what relevance does that have in this thread
who cares
These articles only talk about one sided color blindness, not on all levels.
Colourblindness isn't compatible with multiculturalism, the Psychology Today article touches on it.
i don't see race or gender when i look at a person, i see a human being.
bullshit
so quick to pull out evolutionary psychology and sexual dimorphism yet completely missing the fact that human's have a subconscious
we all see race and gender when we look at a person, and we react accordingly to our society's expectations to do so.
you didnt learn about shit like "power of the pussy" and slagging off feminists on your own, you learned it from society's reactions and cultural history.

if dain was here he'd even say its evolutionary
Colourblindness isn't compatible with multiculturalism, the Psychology Today article touches on it.
Why do you come up with multiculturism? Of course it isn't compatible. And the grass is green.
Again there is a problem with semantics and definitions. Color blindness for me means that there is neither positive or negative discrimination against people based on their skincolor or other racial traits.
besides agnosia, color blindness is not a real thing nor a psychological concept accepted by any scientific standard.

What if I don't follow society blindly?
How do you know how he reacts if you don't even know him personally? It is like saying that every step someone takes is predetermined. That it is his destiny that he can't do anything about. Because it is the evil society that no one can do anything about.

No one said that. Why do you come up with this?
What if I don't follow society blindly?
thats why its called a subconscious

no that's what you are putting in my mouth
i just said that the notion that he doesn't see race and gender is bullshit.
he might pride himself on not doing it, but subconsciously all human beings do, at least here in the west do.
its conditioned in us since birth, because gender differentiation starts early in our culture, right down from the toys we play with and the clothes we are given to wear.
Im not disputing the subconscious aspect
However he is right. You do not personally know me so you are not qualified to make that judgement.
But then again what I say does seem to contradict what I say I really am like.
In any other situation id be on your side probably. but i know myself better than anybody, hypocrasy is not the case here, you're just gonna have to take my word on that one.
also this is a discussion. you don't always have to take on and support your own side and your own true beliefs 100 percent.
we all see race and gender; its a social construct built up from centuries of ideology and cultural thought
the point being that we should change these things as much as possible within our means in order to facilitate a future free of these constructs, one of those that take up the flag being feminism which intends to increase women's participation in civic and social discourse which historically they did not have.
biology doesnt have shit to do with it.
biology had a lot to do with it and i'm kinda surprised you don't see that. at least in the formation of everything that we have today.
[editline]6th May 2013[/editline]
in fact in more ways than just physical differences.
no it has nothing to do with feminism's goals in academic, civic, and social contexts.
nothing in the physiological differences between males and females matters what-so-ever in those contexts.
i mean we started out with inherent physical differences for our own roles in nature. how could these things like women being the ones who bear children and men being generally stronger not have shaped things?
things were the way they are because they started out that way. in fact only in the past couple of decades has this seen an ACTUAL turn around.
neither person changes shit in the real (aka off-internet) world
hate it, love it, hate the haters, love the lovers, fact check, debunk, reblog, reply
wont effect shit
who cares if anita makes vids about obvious cliches and tropes, who cares if people try desperately to put her in the wrong, better question WHY do you care
i mean we started out with inherent physical differences for our own roles in nature. how could these things like women being the ones who bear children and men being generally stronger not have shaped things?

gender roles did not exist until human society existed and human society existed far after human beings existed
even then thats irrelevant
gender roles exist outside our own species in the animal kingdom
and you type all your posts as if you had penis envy...
for extra effect!
it gets so adversarial in gender arguments you could swear that the way things are today is actually because of some battle women and men waged against each other at the beginning of time.
what is penis envy
and these are animals with not even an inkling of what society means
I never actually said women dont have it worse off, or that its not that bad, stop putting words into my mouth because I never said any of those things or believe them.

what the fuck does it matter HOW he said it. you're smart enough to know what he meant, RIGHT? AREN'T YOU?
within human genders, of course
[editline]6th May 2013[/editline]
gender / race "blindness" is not how to get rid of racism or sexism.
exactly. just because you "don't see gender/race" or whatever (which is a thing exclusive to white men, studies have shown (ie bullshit)) doesn't mean these problems do not exist.
[editline]6th May 2013[/editline]
and these are animals with not even an inkling of what society means
so are you implying we are animals? cannot we not surpass our base instincts? lol
gender roles exist outside our own species in the animal kingdom
not what a gender role is. gender roles are a purely human thing.
yes your definition is gender role is incorrect to begin with but im playing along :)
semantics, words being put down my throat and obvious intentional misinterpretation, saying dumb shit i already rebutted to.
oh yeah and a retarded kid could follow what i'm saying more correctly than you could. if you actually followed what i said pretty much every thing you're saying has been addressed in some way or another. and if i have to fucking hold your hand with an even longer explanation then what's the point of discussing this.
what the fuck does it matter HOW he said it. you're smart enough to know what he meant, RIGHT? AREN'T YOU?
if i may quote.
now run along children
People are sexist, it's not exclusive to men or women. Instead of laying so much of the blame on the "patriarchy" we should target faults with human nature.
Blaming men (no matter the amount of men you blame) will only enforce negative stereotypes and cause resentment towards men, which will influence how some women will treat men
and we are back to square one. I wish there was an easy solution but I doubt any of us have it.
Edit: I should clarify that there are groups of men who have caused a lot of problems for women, I'm just trying to emphasis that finger pointing only causes more problems and offers few solutions.
the solution has been around for fucking ages
A: give women control over their own reproduction, B: have equal pay for all genders, and C: expand economic opportunities and give women the freedom to work in all fields
we fail to do any of these as a species constantly, this isnt difficult shit
That stops institutionalized sexism but how does that stop sexism and discrimination on a personal level? a man could still favor a man in a job interview and that happens with both genders.
Obviously I have a different idea of how to reach the goal we all want. Lets hope something works soon.

i've said this plenty of times before:
stop arguing pednatics
and stop arguing about how someone worded something; it's not brain surgery to figure out
It really does matter, and you still havent explained why you put words in my mouth, shit I didnt even say.
no, it doesn't matter. look, intelligent debate!
also, i never said you said anything specifically. you really like twisting posts in a way that allows you to argue against them even it means changing what it is you are arguing against completely

Yes you did.
"the fact you think women don't have it worse off or "it's not that bad" "
Not once did I even say anything like that, or even say anything that could even give you the idea I think that.
Why would you even do that?
