What a bunch of fucking idiots
their motives are incredibly stupid but their activities seem pretty fun. Shooting, farming, camping. it's really cool stuff.
The first guy didn't have any guns, only a knife. Good luck with that in the deep south
He had a pistol in a hard case. In the scene where he's showing off his bug out bag, he puts it in his backpack along with a box of ammunition. What else he has is unknown to us, I doubt he stopped there. [editline]3rd January 2012[/editline]
Medications, and immunizations. Every plan has just been broken.
What are you referring to? That some people need certain medications to live? I think Southern Prepper 1 covered that in a video once. Basically, stockpile what you need, learn possible home remedies if you ever run out and it's also possible to actually get off the medication all together by changing your life style.
What they're doing looks like a lot of fun, but the motives are so amazingly stupid. The first guy, mostly.
What they're doing looks like a lot of fun, but the motives are so amazingly stupid.
Let's ignore the first 2012 guy please. Now, really. What about their motives is so ridiculous? The economy is pretty bad right now. I've seen inflation, we have it every day. Gas costs more, food costs more because gas costs more and it's a big circle that essentially means everything costs me an arm and a leg. A dollar doesn't go very far at all, to the point that if you drop a dollar down a sewer grate it's not a big deal. Forty years ago if you dropped a dollar down a sewer it'd ruin your day because that used to buy you quite a bit. Inflation, Economic Collapse and a US default are all reasonable things to consider. Most people aren't as hardcore as the three or four in this video. But it'd be a very boring show if they had casual preppers. The ideal method of prepping is a little over time. Big pay check? Spend twenty bucks and get a couple cases of water to keep. Not like you won't ever use it, you're not wasting money because water doesn't expire. When the power goes out, if you don't have lanterns, batteries, water, non-perishable food (My power was out for three days during that Hurricane that hit the East Coast last year and all my food spoiled) than you're shit out of luck. You're going to be very uncomfortable. Some things that 'sound crazy' aren't so crazy when you look at it. There is a very common tool called a "Bug Out Bag" or a "EDC Bag - Every Day Carry Bag" or a "GOD/GOOD Bag - Get Out of Dodge) that is basically a mini back pack or a shoulder bag. Nothing big that has enough food, water, tools and medical supplies to get you home. So if you work 30 minutes from home, you pack a bag where you plan to be on the road for a day or two to be safe. So you have a basic first aid kit, handful of water bottles, some lunches that don't go bad or don't need preperation. You have a flash light, spare batteries, radio etc. basic things. Now buying and stocking something like that sounds stupid, but here is the situation now: You have your EDC bag in your truck because you think "Well one day I may not be able to drive home from work." well. You are driving and you hit a deer and total your car or you slide off the road during a snow storm and get stuck in a ditch. Now what? You have an EDC bag with a space blanket, food and water and basic first aid to treat yourself if you need it. If you HAD to walk home you could, or it could just keep you comfortable while you wait for help. Very practical thing to have, it's like one of those emergency kits you have in your car but it's mobile, customizable and can be used in wildly different circumstances.
Reminds me of Fry's dad in Futurama.
Yeah, these guys are gonna be dead if shit hits the fan. Suburban neighborhood full of hundreds of families and you're family is going to be the only one with fresh water and food? People are totally going to act civil and not raid you or anything.

You can either keep it a complete secret, and if that's the case it's possible no one will ever know. Or if they do know, you have to include them so they won't have a reason to raid you.
