You SHOULD NOT get a roll bar for a Miata if you don't use it for track days.
Not enough space, your head will hit it, and you'll fucking die.

Or you get a not terrible one.

Volvo V70 for best car
I was about to say "y'all should go to Automotive Addicts" but then I realized that it no longer exists.

It's a lot lower though. Your head would be above it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but soft tops are also notably more dangerous than hard tops if you happen to get in a wreck.
I don't think everyone cares all that much. I certainly don't.

Did it kill your parents or what?
I don't get why people in this thread are so extremely strongly opinionated about cars :v:

This whole forum is strongly opinionated about everything.
Pick a subject and I guarantee at least one person here will be pissy about it.
Sorry but of all things you could drift around, why would you drift around big heavy bins that could screw up the body if hit. I don't even feel bad for any damage done to the car because of that. Got what was coming etc.

Probably isn't too much damage. As long as they wanna pay for paint and dent rollers shouldn't be a big deal.

I have a sparco sprint V in my miata, my head does not come anywhere near my rollbar, even with a helmet on, and i'm 6'1.
It is recommended to get certified padding, though, because one wrong car accident could spank your head against it and kill you.

That's a style bar. That will not protect you in a rollover, at all. There's a reason they're like $70 and rollbars are $400+

It's an NB, second generation Miata, yo.
How do you recommend "signing up for legit drifting competitions" as if it's as simple as taking out the trash
Why would you even want to go through all the hassle? I wouldn't get into professional basketball if all I wanted to do was play around with some friends
Well there's a place up the freeway from me in Riverside that has Drift nights, you sign a waiver and make sure you pass tech inspection and for like, $40 a session? ( 1 hour on the track ) plus whatever helmet rental fee is, you can practice on a track. Unfortunately, drifting becomes a very expensive hobby once you start going through tires and breaking shit and buying safety gear and whatnot.
Streeting is fun but the consequences are steep, especially for rookies.
A properly padded rollbar wont mush your head.
Just be short and not have long enough legs to get your head close enough to the bar
Just buy a 240z

they also sell more than one roll bar, some taller ones, some farther back.
also, buy a racing seat if you are worried about banging your head. It makes you shorter.
I picked an MR2 over the MX5, RWD and engine in the back, the handling is absolutely superb.

Will admit you also need to clean the soft top drainage bits - hard tops are so rare they're a myth.
Unfortunately discontinued production in 2005, mine (pictured above) is a 2003.
