Sound of Silence - a horror game that plays on the phobias of the player

so wait, wouldn't this guy need to be a brilliant mapper if you suffered from, say, agoraphobia? any mapper can make a big empty room, but how exactly are you going to get a sense of the emptiness if you're not really there?
That would scare the fucking shit out of me if I played this without the music.
Even creepy ambiance still isn't as scary as complete silence in these types of games.

I want a horror game that perfects using surround sound + the enviroment to make ambience, with tons and tons of sound
AKA, dynamic ambiance.
Of course our beloved Valve has already been down the route of dynamically tailoring the game based on player response (except that was biological response):

yeah this, I have to ask some people at valve if any further white papers will be comming out from them on this.
on a side note I've tested video games with an EEG reader and got paychecks from them and valve did pay this 3rd party company to test portal, hl2:eps2, and l4d. The problem is with such readers is that you can't show facial expressions or that'll alter the sensor position and contact with skin.
And here I thought I was the only one.
For me, I love space, planets and all that jazz.
But there is something really terrifying about the sheer size of Planets.
I've had dreams where I would look into the sky and all I would see are giant planets so close, I'd have panic attacks in-dream.
oh shit man i can't believe you have that too. it's actually quite interesting to find out that i'm not the only one.
I'm afraid of heights. The part in Half Life 2 where you're on the underside of the bridge as trains go past is the absolute pinnacle of acrophobia. Seeing that pit at the end of the video was also scary, but making you actually go into the pit is less so.
Amnesia showed me that the secret to being scary is to make the player perceive more danger than they're actually in. So if your player dies too much, death gets less and less psychologically threatening. So if you're to actually make acrophobia happen there'd need to be a perceived risk of falling off, without the player dying a bunch.
I really want to see a game focused on acrophobia. I've never seen anything top Half Life 2 in this case, and that isn't even a horror game.
I loved the bridge part in HL2.
It just seemed so beautiful, even for a 2004 game.
For me something horrifying would be walking or swimming above a very very dark deep pool of water and you feel the presence of some huge shark coming up to get you. Like that scene in ace ventura when hes balancing on the plank above the shark container which made me soil myself as a kid.
From what I figure, it's like LSD on the ps1 except with a theme of fear rather than dreams? Good idea, LSD had it's scary parts, I hope they've analyzed it to see how well some of the mechanics worked and hos others didn't.
It should refuse to start the game if its not nighttime.
The only thing that scares me is darkness and anticipation without those its just not scary.
I am afraid of Elevators(Or congested spaces like that, I was stuck in an elevator a lot as a kid) and Bugs.
I want to see it combine that.

I'm not really afraid of much in games unless I have to (like Amnesia, Penumbra)
Tense moments that slowly build up and implement of risky actions, as well as being chased helplessly down a seemingly endless hall is scary stuff.
that'll need a lot of different phobia's to be good.
If mannequins are in it, I ain't playin' shit

I'm afraid of elevators and wide open spaces
so a giant elevator I guess?
Something I cannot fight against.
Yeah this game is gonna own me.
Oh god how did they know I'm scared of Simon and Garfunkel
I'm absolutely terrified of midgets. I'm 6'2" and anyone under 5' scares me.
Gema block this video for German people :v:.
One of my greatest fears is having a fish touch me. I don't think this game can do that.
Unless it can generate real-life fish.
Day-1 Fish DLC.
It'd have to have vast open spaces, people moving abnormally, someone/thing stalking me. Or have one detail that's off that tells me something bad's going to happen. I fixate myself on small details, so if there's a consistent object or anomaly that keeps popping up I'll have a fit looking for it.
Reminds me of an SCP game and just plain something out of /x/. I like the concept though, I've been toying with the thought myself but I never got as far. I'd enjoy seeing thid game.

-also snip-
I watch scary movies and play scary games just to get scared, not that I actually care about the movie/game, I know lots of other people do as well so this would be literally the ultimate horror game to an extent.
This game will never sell because it's so pants-shittingly terrifying if this idea is properly implemented.
Oh my god, I would piss myself if he could manifest my feats properly.
I've got a massive fear of even LOOKING at a painting of anything massive compared to me, like , or one of those big ass pictures of planets, like said before.
I've also got a fear of shit becoming wicked zoomed out. Like you know how in Source how you can noclip out of the map and see everything that exists there, but the entire outside is black? I've had dreams like that where I fucking woke up almost puking.
That scared the fuck out of me.

What? It did.
What happens if you're afraid of the gays?

The HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA song plays everywhere, I guess.
Also this thing looks pretty cool, and I anticipate to see how it pans out.
I have a fear of being fucked by two hot women at the same time. The game might make it happen.
