No it doesn't, Duke is still played as a pussy in DNF and isn't even close to being the ultimate badass that he's supposed to be.
whatever I enjoyed it I frankly don't give a shit if everyone else hated it
He thought the game would live up to its trailer - and it didn't.
You could tell what kind of game it was in every gameplay trailer after the cinematic one. It should not have come as a surprise to anybody. It was a good game but not the game people wanted. [editline]11th January 2012[/editline]
Agreed with everything, especially mw3 and bf3. Just face it, those two were made just to make money, nothing more.
What better way to make money than by making a good game? The hate for those games, more so BF3, just comes from what are basically the video game hipsters.
when you really get down to it BF3 is not bad but it's military shooter so everyone assumes it's some CoD shit MW3 is almost criminal though, it's a glorified expansion pack [editline]11th January 2012[/editline] also why won't this shit load
Agreed with everything, especially mw3 and bf3. Just face it, those two were made just to make money, nothing more.
I'm having a blast in bf3 with my uncle on b2k maps. Spend a lot of cash for advertisement and hype before you release it.
Agreed with everything, especially mw3 and bf3. Just face it, those two were made just to make money, nothing more.
Yeah just like every other game out there, but it's also made for people to have fun guess what, people have fun with it
I'm having a blast in bf3 with my uncle on b2k maps. [editline]12th January 2012[/editline] Repaint a game you have already released. Just goes to show that being a popular military shooter is all it takes to be a bad game apparently.
If i remember from a earlier video he didn't play the Multiplayer of battlefield so in single player it does deserve that spot, while i did enjoy single player it felt bland and really shit, however some notable moments do stand out it's rather boring on the whole.
Agreeing on everything but dead island, that game was fun. [editline]11th January 2012[/editline]
when you really get down to it BF3 is not bad but it's military shooter so everyone assumes it's some CoD shit MW3 is almost criminal though, it's a glorified expansion pack [editline]11th January 2012[/editline] also why won't this shit load
BF3 is BF2 with a singleplayer campaign and dickwave worthy graphics
Agreeing on everything but dead island, that game was fun. [editline]11th January 2012[/editline] BF3 is BF2 with a singleplayer campaign and dickwave worthy graphics
BF3 is BF2 with all its good parts, all bad parts removed and everything else made better. And good graphics. And all that is good.
Well no wonder BF3 was part of his worst choices, he only played the singleplayer which is by far the worst part of the game. He should just not review multiplayer-focused games at all.
Half of a game being good is no excuse for the other half to be shit.
Half of a game being good is no excuse for the other half to be shit.
Singleplayer is like 10% of BF3.
I don't agree with his #1 bad games choices. Just because there are a lot of similar games does not mean that they are bad. If you don't like that genre, don't play it. [editline]11th January 2012[/editline] Reviews should be based on the quality of the games themselves, not whether or not you think there are too many like it.
I like seeing reviews from different points of view. And for the record, i like battlefield 3, and have played unhealthy amounts of it in the last weeks. [editline]12th January 2012[/editline]
Singleplayer is like 10% of BF3.
They shouldn't even had included it. It was crap. And who the hell plays battlefields for the singleplayer? Seriously. Co-op was fun tho.
How does that fit BF3? Just goes to show that being a popular military shooter is all it takes to be a bad game apparently.
It doesn't fit bf3. Just saying an alternative of making an actually good game.
Holy shit, the site just went down after I refreshed the video. :v:
BF3 improved a lot from Bad Company, while MW3 didn't make a whole lot of changes. Dice greatly improves their games. Infinity Ward, not so much.
You missed the point entirely and are probably one of the people he thinks should just stop existing. As for the list, I agree with basically everything except Portal at #1, should be on the list somewhere but I don't think it was the best game release of 2011. Then sub out Driver: San Francisco for DX:HR. Honestly for the community of players it has BF3 would never make a top 5 or top 10 list for GOTY 2011 for me.
How did Portal 2 get first. As much as I love the storytelling, co-op, and puzzles, I played it for about 10 hours and I never want to play it again. It has no replay value. I honestly don't see why people enjoy to the point that it was the best game of 2011.

Really excellent writing, atmosphere, story, and characters, but it's longevity is almost nil. I'd put it easily in a top 10, maybe top 5, but not the #1 spot it seems to get a lot of. Certainly better than MW3/BF3 simply for having some creative spark.
This reminds of one of the Nostalgia Critic videos. Tongue in cheek, he says something along the lines of "Now, strictly speaking, this is all opinion-based. However, since I have a online review show, my opinion is better than yours."
Why did he even bother putting battlefield 3 and mw3 on the list if he doesn't take multiplayer into consideration...? I mean who even buys those games just to play singleplayer. [editline]11th January 2012[/editline] these two games are the worst games of the year because they put most of their focus into multiplayer and not singleplayer!!!
No deus Ex? wow
Who gives a fuck if its a review or not. It's still more honest then 90% of the "big" reviewers.

Did you enjoy them more than the ~100 hours you potentially put into skyrim or BF3? if so, Portal is indeed the better game. Replay value has nothing to do with it.
Battfield and Dead Island aren't terrible games. But they're not the best either.I disagree with most of his choices.
I'm kinda sad that DNF was on there. I understand why, but it was definitely one of the more fun games of this year, hyped up too much or not. If I wanted DN3D gameplay, I'd play DN3D
I agree with the Dead Island portion. I would go as far to say Borderlands is also a terrible game, except for the co-op. If the game cannot be played singularly and still be fun, the developers have done something seriously wrong. Borderlands is one of my favorite games for the co-op fun it had, but without it it's horribly boring. Same with Dead Island, and I never had the chance to experience co-op in that.
No deus Ex? wow
No Arkham City either. I think I like that better than every game on his list.
I would go as far to say Borderlands is also a terrible game, except for the co-op.
You're judging it for only it's gameplay. The story, graphics, and battle system was perfect. But I do agree that the game isn't as good as you have a bud to play it with. But the game is still amazing despite that one mistake.
Red faction Armageddon was pretty shit. killing bugs is soo much fun..... although it did have some awesome weapons that I would love to of seen in red faction guerrilla. I rented this game and I just thought it was so dull. It was nothing like red faction guerrilla at all.
Did you enjoy those 10 hours? Did you enjoy them more than the ~100 hours you potentially put into skyrim or BF3? if so, Portal is indeed the better game. Yes, I enjoyed the short time of great storytelling that totally blew my mind in any possible way. I will always look back to this game as long as THE finest piece of art. Even tough I spent over 40 hours on Bad Company 2 and had a lot of fun with it, it hadn't such a high impact as Portal 2 and I wont remember any of it in 10 years.
No Arkham City either. I think I like that better than every game on his list.
I'm personally enjoying Arkham City more than Skyrim(haven't beaten either of them yet). Arkham City would probably be at the top of my list. Then Skyrim, L.A. Noire, Deus Ex, and then Battlefield 3. Arkham City has more replayability for me than Portal 2 because of the challenges, secrets, free roaming, side quests, and I just like the characters/story more.
