Poor storyline? The story was really original, really well written and had great dialogue.
Big Agree, most story dialogues where extremely well written and very human like. The dialogues with other drivers where cheesy and sometimes incredible dumb but they did their job. Also I was really glad to see them trying to pull so much out of this game and not just make some quick cash. It had a shitload of highly detailed licenced cars. (with nice interior) The animations for Tanner himself and the cutscenes where amazing. And it was extremely rich in variety. (for a driving game)
Yeah, sure.
Either way, the storyline wasn't the main part in it, it's greatness comes from just the simple and pure car chase fun. Cars were fun to drive and all car chases are extremely intense. And there's also of course the soundtrack which, as with every Driver game, is some of the best music ever to be put in a video game.

I call it boring
I thought that the cutscenes were poorly made and badly animated. I also loved the cheesiness of the other Driver games.
How were they poorly animated? People moved like people, there weren't any problems with the animations.
How were they poorly animated? People moved like people, there weren't any problems with the animations.
I don't know how to explain, but I felt like they were way too slow, and a little unreal.

And even then, if you try to switch to a different car, you completely lose control of your own car, which can lead to you losing quite often.
You could use shift in most chases
Not in the main story ones.
