One thing to point out, is that TLJ has almost a completely different upper echelon from TFA.
Different writer, different director, different producers (except for Kathleen Kennedy).
It is also 100% LucasFilm, while TFA was a co-production with Bad Robot, JJ Abrams' company.
I guess I was the only one depressed that Carrie Fisher is now long gone.
