I bet this is going to reinforce the incorrect mindset that "There are no real atheists, just people who hate & choose to ignore God". From the same demographic that follow people like Ray Comfort & Kent Hovind.
Wow, the book this is based on seriously claims that the existence of morality points to a God, as "without God, there is no basis for morality".
Who wants to bet this doesn't actually make it to theaters? :v:
why would you post this on a forum filled with 98% atheists in the first place
why would you post this on a forum filled with 98% atheists in the first place
If you actually watch it it has a hilariously bad case of Strawman Fallacy. I posted it because it was funny.

I'm not Atheist or Christian. I am part of the religion that doesn't give a fuck about religion.

well, to be fair, i think a lot of the times they refer to god (as in the title), they mean the idea of god
Grrr! Those non-believers always make me so steamed!
I'm not Atheist or Christian. I am part of the religion that doesn't give a fuck about religion.
Uh..what?
As a Christian, I hate crap like this. Cheap movies created for no other reason than to push a message out.
What happened to making movies because you wanted to MAKE A MOVIE? and/or the situation is a unique idea?
This is going to be a bad movie. Call me a critic, but I don't think this movie is going to be "watchable" by an intellectual audience without making them cringe. I already listen to some sermons and cringe when the pastor doesn't make any sense but everybody is like "AMEN". Along with other people debating for and against God on those infamous facebook debates... they make no sense! They're obviously making some fallacies that I just can't name, but they're so bad that they don't even make sense. Like they don't register in my brain as actual critical thinking.
And when that happens, you get frustrated because you have a monkey trying to speak to you.
I'd like to see where they go with "SCIENCE SAYS HE'S REAL" when I thought most intelligent Christians recognized you can't really PROVE the existence of God... only look at how intricate and awesome science and nature are and be in awe of what God made and how powerful and thoughtful he must be. That, to me, is literally the ONLY WAY you can ever compare science to God if you considered them two different things.
Lol, what newbs, God doesn't exist. The longest game of Chinese whispers is just still going on. I would only watch this film TO LAUGH at all these primitives believing in divine spirit from up above.
jk.
The thing that makes me firmly believe there is no God is that, there is no proof, they just beat around words and say things to try and convince you, with science their is no listening to someone say they are better than something else, there are facts and people who have spent forever finding out the actual truth and come back with facts where as a bible, just says things which are impossible happened thousands of years ago but for some reason don't happen anymore and if you do not do the praying and the blissful listening without questioning then you are evil. What right does something have to tell me whether what I do is right or not, especially things which are only human and that we all do.
Let's all take a moment to realize, only in a fucking movie would this guy get anywhere, because in reality, he would be met with facts which would see this guy see a bit of sense.
And as for me I personally used to go to church all the way up until I was about 16. I've had the bible and religious drummed into me super good, but at the end of the day there are no facts with religion, there is no proof of events and locations. I feel like the bible for example is story of lessons that people will learn. Not forced against you to do or you suffer.

Judges 15:4 to 15:6
So he went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails,
lit the torches and let the foxes loose in the standing grain of the Philistines. He burned up the shocks and standing grain, together with the vineyards and olive groves.
When the Philistines asked, "Who did this?" they were told, "Samson, the Timnite's son-in-law, because his wife was given to his companion." So the Philistines went up and burned her and her father to death.

The correct term is apatheist.
Pure Flix also gave us Christmas with a Capital C, if anyone remembers it.

i think this film is backwards, it should actually be about a rude religious student who eventually learns his place in philosophy class

"Life is really a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
They shouldn't use a such a great line for a movie like this.
