A character saying science supports God's existence.
I want to visit the writer and give him a bitch-slap to rival the ages for writing that line.

The fruit of Eden is a metaphor for sex.
i wouldnt argue over it here of all places
its an atheist wonderland
Y'know, I'm not even looking to argue.
But let me just tell you that the reason I'm dismissing it is not because I'm an atheist, it's because it's totally insane. If God were to show himself or something like that, sure, I'd believe in him. If there was any verifiable, solid proof of specific events in the bible, sure I'll believe in those as well. But you and I both know that there's no proving hardly any specifics in the bible, and I think we should leave it as such. Take the Bible as good stories trying to get a morale through, not events that happened in precisely the way described (or happened at all, for the most part).

"science" is such an incredibly generic term

If you aren't trying to argue, then why say all that?

Because it removes any foundation for any argument surrounding specific events in the bible? Sure, I'll discuss the Bible, but it sounds like you'd want to discuss the validity of the accounts, and I won't do that. I'll gladly discuss what they mean, why they were written, etc., but I won't sit here and discuss why Noah's ark never happened.

You know what, you're right. I completely agree with you. There is literally no argument stronger than your own. I was stupid to ever be a Christian. Good job.
This movie is worse than Birdemic

You're not stupid to be a Christian - many of the most intelligent people I know are Christians. I'd never insult anyone for their religion, because I really think it's great that you have something that you really believe in and something that might help you through tough times.
What I think is not so great is when people try to mix religion with science and so on. I don't see the point in doing it, and overall it's a waste of time. You have faith, so why would you have to prove anything? At the same time the "evidence" will always (so far at the very least) fall short of being scientific, so you won't win an argument with someone who isn't believing already (and is somewhat scientifically minded).
The thing is, Christianity in America is very different from what you find in Denmark. You don't have to believe in all what the Bible says to be a Christian, you just need a concept of God and an agreement with the overall sentiment of The New Testament, pretty much. I agree with a lot of what Jesus said, but I don't believe he was the son of God. I couldn't care less about what you want to believe, just don't believe the Bible is meant to be scientific or even discussed as such.
It's an old book written by men, and men are prone to err - so take it as the word of God as interpreted and manipulated by man, not words God himself wrote.
And then you could start a discussion about God actually being limited by language (since he's an omnipotent being, a language with a finite amount of words and meanings are clearly not the best tool for him to convey his opinion).
there weren't millions, probably only tens of thousands at most
There's about 2 or 3 million species of animals on the planet as of right now. There used to be a whole ton more but they've with the years become extinct.
it wasn't an apple
Apple, orange, banana, mango - it was a fruit nevertheless that made them aware that they had genitals. It did literally nothing else except give them "awareness". No secrets about God himself or grand things like that, nope. Just the ability to understand they were just another creation - and that they were naked.
How horrid, let's throw them out of the paradise.

what
oh my god that makes way too much sense
One alternative view is that the forbidden fruit is not a fruit at all, but a metaphorical one, possibly the fruit of the womb, i.e. sex and procreation from the tree of life.
Wow, I kinda wanna read the bible now, that's fuckin deep
Like, I've read it before but it's like when you grow up watching a movie and you don't understand shit, and when you're older you're like "whoa, THATs what it meant"

Yeah, hence why they covered their naughty bits after boning and why Eve was forced to endure painful childbirth. Apparently this isn't common knowledge... the fuck? Why the hell not?! It's the point of the damn story!

I didn't expect that response. Thank you for having an open mind.
You learn most of the interesting parts of the bible in Sunday school so they need to Bowdlerize every story and completely skew the story's moral.
Pure Flix also gave us Christmas with a Capital C, if anyone remembers it.

Absolutely disgusting.
If they were proper Christians they would realize the veneration of ikons (which is just what those displays are) is a gross violation of the Decalogue, specifically the commandment against the worship of graven images.

I always figured the Genesis was just overall about the creation of the world and why humanity isn't in the Garden of Eden, didn't think it would go deeper beyond the fruits with an actual metaphor like that.
-snip-
I have to watch this. It'll be pure comedy.
