It's supposed to be slower, but Virtual PC makes it go super fast.

I am sorry, what is cmosdead?

Probably my favorite Danooct1 video.

This, to me, is utterly amazing. how it could even run it is beyond me.
my roommate showed me danooct and I've been in love with dos viruses ever since.
We've tested out a few for giggles. the one that really worked was the casino virus. that was a fun virus to mess with.

It would be cool if it forced you to play all 255 levels and then uninstalled itself.
Just now I've noticed this

okay it doesn't seem as frightening in real time
the noise is awful though
i miss getting viruses that made me laugh my ass off. now people make viruses that just extort money or ruin your computer, whats the fun in that. instead of making people have a nice laugh and learn about 'pooters, you go to prison for, like i said, extortion and shit.
Not really a virus but it made a lot of people panic; We at work had a excel file that people were sending to others. It had a random name like " winter holidays calendar " and when you opened it, it just show you the sentence: "thank me later"
[sp]and furtively change your wallpaper to 2 dudes kissing on a bed[/sp].
If anyone want it , I still have it :v:
Here it is! The Screamer Virus, Spectre.exe I was talking about:
The Screamer Virus
I’m going to describe something that I could have sworn somebody told me about, but I’ve found absolutely no information about it anywhere on the net, and can’t remember for the life of me where I heard it initially.
Anyway, I know that it has to exist in some form, because my mind wouldn’t have just conjured this sort of thing up.
Back in mid-last decade (2006? I wanna say…), there was this virus going around the web. It only lasted for a short period before supposedly it was neutralized, but versions of it still exist on the web. The virus was created by somebody unknown, probably for reasons that will become clear in the coming words. I can’t remember if it was transferred through mail or through web page, but it would silently install itself onto your system, in a folder tucked deep away. I’m sure that modern virus software might be able to find it, but I remember it was a big deal that people couldn’t find it at the time. Its name was also particularly chilling for what it was, SPECTRE.EXE.
The file would supposedly install itself shortly after making its way onto your harddrive, but unlike many viruses, it would not affect your files or piggyback its way onto any outgoing data. Instead, a hidden process would be running, and several months after it was installed, it would activate. Whatever you are doing on your screen will instantly disappear and be replaced by a horrible gory image, I believe of a face. A horrible wailing, screeching noise would also play in congruence to the image. The only way to make it stop was to turn off the system.
Turning it back on fixed it for the time being, but at an irregular interval, the image and sound could pop up again at any time.
When I heard about this, I was absolutely horrified and was afraid that I could have it, because of how hidden it was and how terrifying it sounded.
I can’t imagine a worse infiltration.
Has anybody heard about this?
Could be rumor, or worse, a creepypasta.
It's an Urban Legend, I couldn't find anything from actual anti-virus site.
Man viruses back in the day were actually just nasty pranks and somewhat cool
Now they are all serious business shit designed to steal your identity, ruin your actual life, keylog, force ads on you or etc.
Just discovered this guy, I love it. Like a technological petri dish.
Thanks for introducing me to this channel, Durrsly! I can't believe I haven't seen this guy before. I spent the better part of my entire weekend watching these videos and nostalgiagasming.
This guys videos are awesome

In Primary school, someone infected all the computers with a virus that caused the start button to run away and when clicked nothing happened

Was it actually a virus (infects other files and tries to stay on the system) or just a prank (easily uninstallable if you can figure out how to access the control panel)? Because it sounds a lot like the "Avoid" prank by RJL Pranks.
Oh god this pac-man game, I remember playing the non virus version when I was just a little kid.

Actually I think it was a RJL prank or something but it was on just about every computer in the school

I could imagine walking to a internet cafe back in the day, implanting the virus on one computer, runs it payload, and walk out. It's the perfect plan.

Probably my favorite Danooct1 video.
"Ok looks like my display is not configured properly, let's do this!"
"Oh shit"
Probably his funniest video yet.

Yeah, I just installed DOSbox and I'm working on some little programs using OpenWatcom. It's really neat to directly interface with the video memory.

I kinda want to buy a standalone PC with shitty hardware and DOS on it. But then I wonder what I'd really use it for that would make it worth the money.
Maybe someone in my family has one packaged away in a corner somewhere, but I doubt it. Probably got rid of them a long time ago.

I wanna try to install DOS on a modern PC and see if it implodes.
