I wish they didn't turn the girl character into the stereotypical hot videogame solider. I think it would be better if they made her look more wartorn and muscly because it would make more sense. I mean I don't see how she was able to have a chainsaw duel with that muscle bound alien without having any herself.

I for one am extremely excited to see how this ends.
Though the whole bleak doomed world of GoW3 doesn't feel as hopelessly lost and desperate like, say Resistance 3 (if you read and watch some of the previews you'll see what I mean), but the situation is still absolutely shit where humans are involved. Either way, I truly hope the storyline comes to a [b]PROPER[/b] closure and no stupid ass spin offs and prequel nonsense like Halo.
GoW trailers are always amazing.
Replaying GoW on PC with my brother, max settings and this game looks fabulous still even from 2007

Apparently one of the mechanics in the game that you have to deal with is you have to kill off the regular locusts FAST before the Lambent get their mits on them thus creating more lambent.
It's things like this that makes me sad that I don't have an Xbox.

I like the position of the story right now
Whole world is fucked, only save place is a island in the middle of nowhere, lambent locust find the island and attack it, they pimp a a [I]motha fucking boat[/I] into their own steel island... Well yeah whats next?
Also this campaign will be 2x as longer as GoW 2 and for me (at least) GoW 2 was pretty long

There are BARELY any locust left. It's the lambent that forced the COG to disband and for humanity to revert to a tribal state. The Locust are just as disoriented as the humans.

You play as the queen in multiplayer too... she's the "leader" character in Capture the Leader.

Maybe it's because I didn't play the first gears of war, but I couldn't enjoy gears of war 2 for some reason. I ended up hating it in the end. I don't really know why.
I have literally loved EVERY trailer they put out. However, I played the first and never got into it. These trailers make it look like story is very epic, but I just didn't see that playing the first. Would you guys recommend playing the second?

The second in much more epic in scale than the first. larger scale set pieces and battles.

I played the beta many times, Queen Myrrah is the leader in Capture the Leader. RAAM was the "VIP" in the Assassination gamemode in Gears 1, Skorge was the leader in Gears 2 in Guardian.
