There's more to it than just being a big, red cow, but I still think it's kind of interesting that those pokemon were based on the leviathan, behemoth and that other thing I don't remember the name of. I know it's kind of obvious if you've made the comparison with the story, but I never fail to be surprised when a Japanese game makes references to abrahamic religions.
