The soundtrack was good.
There's only about 1 track i can remember, whereas i can remember quite a large amount of the soundtracks from the previous Halo games.
The soundtrack was good.
It was eh. One of the few parts of the game I could stand. That said it didn't feel too Halo and it was no where near Marty O'Donnell quality.
The music playing in the second half of the video, is that from the Halo 4 OST?
I also can't really stand the whole 'humanity is ancient as fuck, discovered the flood' and the changing of the Ring's purpose, though I don't think that's entirely 343i's fault.
I also can't really stand the whole 'humanity is ancient as fuck, discovered the flood' and the changing of the Ring's purpose, though I don't think that's entirely 343i's fault.
Are you kidding? I thought it was bad ass that Humanity used be a space faring race that had awesome tech and discovered and fought the flood. I liked all of that in Halo 4. I just didn't like that the final boss was a boss because "My way or the highway bitch".
I also can't really stand the whole 'humanity is ancient as fuck, discovered the flood' and the changing of the Ring's purpose, though I don't think that's entirely 343i's fault.
I think that's more a case of the expanded universe writers gradually introducing plot points that culminated in this. Nylund was first, I think, with Ghosts of Onyx.
I just feel a need to bring this up every time we talk about halo 4.
But they butchered the pelican too.
It went from a masculine, durable, and iconic dropship.

To this ugly mix of a hind and a jet fighter. Not to mention they give it these curves to make it look sleek compared to durable.

It's supposed to show a shift in the USNC becoming more advanced, I think. It's not the same vehicle either - they're different models, with the Halo 4 Pelican being designed (in-universe) several years later.
I actually liked most of Halo 4's redesigns (except for the Marines, though I think their biggest problem is the goofy color scheme - white, red, and beige). The Promethean Forerunner architecture looked neat - I don't get where you guys are saying it looks totally different from regular Forerunner architecture, because the Promethean stuff is basically just Forerunner buildings with tron lines and some more hovering bits. The only major difference are the Promethean enemies themselves and in the weapons.
honestly i just can't stand the name "Promethean," never mind the aesthetic. it just sounds so hideously boring, it's like the go-to name when you want something profound but can't really get anything original or cool
As much as I hate the pointless redesigns and terrible story of Halo 4 I did love the first cutscene of Spartan Ops. Seeing the Infinity just slam through a Covenant corvet like it was nothing was really cool, like Humanity had almost reclaimed it's position of power in the galaxy.
I hate Sarah Palmer. They made her a "badass" character that hadn't actually done anything cool, so it just felt empty to me.
I really like the track that plays at the final segment of the game. the song that plays at around 6:15.
what is it called.
I don't like anything else.
Expected a serious review of it, but got Dunkey. I love Dunkey.
Expected a serious review of it, but got Dunkey. I love Dunkey.
the best thing about dunkey is that even his funny reviews bring up actual issues. he brings up the whole master chief fake deaths ( x8 ), the mishmash of a plot, etc.
I was really sad that their were no friendly covys in halo 4 not even an Easter egg, arbiter where are thou.
That fucking bossfight was totally a Call of Duty bossfight, it even had the fucking stab QTE.
Weren't the humans like, in the low millions and on the brink of death in Halo 3 and around that time? How come they're the most feared force in the universe now

THE POWER OF RETCONS !
Hey remember how the Covenant were supposed to be a terrifying and seemingly unstoppable alien force that was supposed to strike fear at the sight of their ships flying over planets glassing it from orbit? How they almost destroyed humanity and how hopeless the war seemed?
Yeah, neither does 343.

UNSC #1
Where did the Sangheili Covenant remnants get that many ships?
Retconia

To be honest Humanity is a fucking force to be reckoned with when the Infinity is on the field.
The Infinity is probably one of the best things to come from 4, design wise at least it looks like what happens when you get Covenant + Human + Forerunner tech and smash it together.
I like it.

Also Spartan Ops cutscenes were the best thing about Halo 4 so u wot m8
Retconia
A land where all is forgiven and forgotten.
Mostly forgotten.
I love the concept of the Infinity. Building a giant interstellar juggernaut as a secret revenge weapon sounds exactly like the sort of thing ONI would get behind.

THAT IS FUCKING STUPID
Those war ships made me think one thing, "unstoppable"
they glass planets for fucks sake...
IDK , I just liked the Spartan Wetwork armor for the Metroid cosplay.
But just curious, wasn't some of the terminals supposed to indicate the Didact "has two lives" like a cat or something?
Would like to see an explanation for that.

Yeah, the shielding on covenant cruisers is stupidly strong, the Infinity would bounce off.
Yeah, the shielding on covenant cruisers is stupidly strong, the Infinity would bounce off.
They weren't shielded, there was no human presence until the infinity decided to rear its head.

[t] http://filesmelt.com/dl/charon2.jpg[/t]
That new design looks like a gun, its even got a scope and everything
Little do you know that in Halo 5/6 humanity will get like 20 Infinity-class ships and they'll morph into fuckhuge spacerobots that actually use Forward-Unto-Dawns as guns.
