Alright I overeacted. When I clicked on the video I thought it was interesting, as we all strive to be happy. How miserable could you be if you tried? But what I got instead was not a tutorial on how to be miserable, but feel good bullshit. It simply pointed out that what I'm doing is making me miserable, which is not true at all. My life was the complete opposite to whats shown in the video, but then I got dragged down by some serious shit. All those things shown in the video is a symptom of what I'm going through, not intentional life style choices. In no way did I chose to live like this or try or justify my actions and just blaming depression. And that is why I'm upset.
It might be a symptom yes, but a symptom that keeps perpetuating a vicious cycle.
I know first hand that depression tries its best to keep you stranded within said vicious cycles.
But in the end we have to take the first steps towards healing.
Like stated here before; walks are free and good. And if there are people walking their dogs in your area then that's an opportunity.
If you want I suppose I could give you my "Petting strangers' dogs 101".

It's not even all day walking. It's been proven time and time again even just a 30 minute walk a day does absolute wonders for your mental health.
Look dude, if you want this to be an attack on you, it is. But that's entirely on you. What it actually is, is advice. Simple things too. No money? You can go outside without money. No ones saying walk all day, but get up and go for a walk, see the sun, talk to people then go back home and continue on.
All this is saying is to think about your habits and examine them
Some people just won't try man, ya just gotta let it go i suppose.
Oh man this is too accurate. Except, with ADHD, I have a hell of a difficult time setting up short-term goals, and whenever I do, I get distracted by other short-term goals that don't matter, so I never manage to achieve the long-term goal I set out to achieve. And then, with GAD, I get anxious that I didn't complete those goals in time or well enough. So I try to get shit done, fail, get anxious about how these small goals are piling up, get overwhelmed and go to even smaller, easier, and less meaningful goals (like playing video games and downloading music), and then just wait until the last moment to get like 30 different goals done in a frenzy.
This makes me want to go do things because holy shit every habit I have is making me even more miserable.
Mindfulness meditation and scheduling bro
Not meditation in the spiritual sense. Rather, sitting in a comfortable spot, setting a timer, breathing deeply and focusing your attention on your breaths. When your mind wanders, don't get angry at yourself for 'failing' a just gently redirect your attention back to your breath. The aim is to get better at holding just one thing in your mind at once, rather than jumping between thoughts as happens with ADHD. it'll take time to see results, but it's the #1 thing I can recommend.
The other is scheduling. Get Google Calendar and start blocking out your week. Let yourself reschedule stuff but only when you genuinely need to do something else productive in that time slot. You'll learn a shitton about the misconceptions you may have about how you use time, you'll find yourself getting more done and if you're anything like me, you'll get better and not being chronically Kate for everything.
There are periods i've had arguments and discussions in various contexts while dealing with depression, im glad nobody treated me differently for it, then again i don't mention it. I believe people prefer to be held to the same standard regardless of whatever issues they are dealing with at the time. Being depressed doesn't make you stupid, it makes you irrational when it comes to a set of issues, but your rationality doesn't go away. Bringing the rationality back towards those areas of life can help clear the fog in my experience.
or im just a dick idk u folks decide
The problem isn't saying that that isn't the purpose of the video, it's your aggressive and snobby way of doing so.

It's not like it's bad and isolating either, you can still take a phone or something to keep in contact with people or listen to music / podcasts.
The last couple days I've gone for walks and it really does help you feel nice.
I scored a whopping seven out of seven.
I feel like they missed "Step eight: watch this video", though.
So what happens if you're mostly indifferent to the majority of things. I used to go running for a few months and it didn't do much for my mood at all(indifferent to it all), eventually stopped cos cbf, walking outside is boring and anything that might entertain me is online, someone send help.

yeah apathy's a bitch
if you got no goals you have nothing to strive towards
#4 is the one I'm most actively working against. I used to get extremely mad and irritated about national and international politics and get into fights with (online) friends, that it ended up breaking up my relationships. So I've started to better control myself with reading the news, and understanding that it's all out of my reach. I do still get annoyed by things, especially with how the current administration is; but instead of needlessly waste energy on things I have no control of, I try to do more productive things instead and make the best of things.
I've felt really good since I started sleeping regularly and getting a good bedtime routine going. Really helps wonderfully. Between 9:30 and 10:00 PM I start the routine, taking a shower, flossing, brushing. Then I set my phone's alarms for the morning, plug it into the wall, and don't look at it again until the morning, I also set my alarm clock too.
Then I read in bed until about midnight. Then I sleep, and wake up at about 6:50-7:00 the next day, although usually I sleep in for another hour or so.

Although, I fucked this up a bit when summer break started. Gotta get back to doing it every night.

also just reading more in general helps
Recently got out of a bad sleep schedule and I feel so much better. I had no idea shit sleeping patters caused a lot of the stress I had. Always thought if I got 8 hours it didn't matter when I got sleep. Holy shit was I wrong
Trying to do this myself now, I also thought that 8 hours was enough no matter when, but I started to realise it doesn't work that way. However, everytime I go to sleep early because I'm truly tired, I end waking up just 3 hours later with no sleepiness at all, and then I fuck it all up cause I end up going back to sleep too late. I don't know how to fucking fix this, I want to have a normal sleep schedule again.

m8 just walk for like an hour. listen to some music/podcast. Fuck it even, don't listen to anything, entertain your thoughts. Some of my best ideas came from just walking in silence.
