This is more than blind hate for the popular people, I think that's plain to see.
This is more than blind hate for the popular people, I think that's plain to see.
Well yeah there's definitely a real problem when it comes to them making money off the work of the original artists 4 Non Blondes and the creators of He-Man. This is just any old meme parody so I don't care if they give credit since most meme parodies don't but them making money off it is a problem if they didn't get permission. [editline]24th June 2013[/editline] I feel like the Yogscast get an unfair amount of hate just because the majority of their fanbase is Youtubers and Minecrafters which are shitty groups in themselves. I just think this is one situation where people are being overly critical because of that. I don't think a fanbase should have any bearing on the reputation of any media.

They never intended to make money out of it either. So for the Yogscast to take it and then make a profit off a parody from that (ultimately taking both the He-Man and 4 Non-Blondes copyright theories out of the picture) is kind of dumb when really the only last part of creative media that is still part of their version is the general idea and base of the music from Slackcircus.
yogscast sux
It's one thing to make a homage. But to give no credit to the original version let-alone selling it for a profit is asinine.
Wow fagscast you failed to amaze me even when I first saw your video's.
It's annoying because in the description they say it's a thank you/celebration video for two-billion views, but they're selling the song instead of giving it away for free.
It doesn't help that they've abandoned all of their series that I cared about. Specifically SOI and Voltz. Voltz was amazing, with all of the different points of view and how the other groups fucking each other over. I'm not willing to go through their 100+ episodes of Tekkit.
The original is so famous that this is more of a bad parody than a rip-off to be honest.
i dont get how they got so popular 2 really autistic socially awkward dudes who play minecraft make vids about it how the hell has this gone on so long
because 11 year olds
How can people even like this? Looking at the comments just gives me an aneurysm.
I'm subscribed to most of their channels and watch them regularly. I knew FP disliked the Yogscast because of reasons? but jesus. Would they really need to ask permission from the creators of a 30ish year old cartoon? The original song is different though I guess

I think they should have credited them, but I think they are fully within their right to not because they don't have to. This obviously is a parody, and with that even if the visuals are re-rotoscoped from the original and thus is completely recreated. And the music is remade as well, you can't claim they can't monetize that. As any cover from anyone is the same deal. You remake the music with your own voice an/or lyrics. You all for the most part seem to think they can't do this simply because you don't like them.
Are these the guys who were dropping the f-bomb in front of children and being dicks at Minecon?
If I was them and realized the fanbase of my videos were dumb 12 year old kids who'd worship me no matter what I say I'd probably do the same thing. Sometimes when you do bad things [sp]videos[/sp] you just can't help but to hate yourself and those around you.
Fucking hell :v:
that's it i'm fucking done
They deserve to be egocentric considering their position. They live a great life, famous youtubers and shit, so of course they'll be arrogant jackasses. Such is life.
ahahhahahaaahahaahahaha thats it thats why they deserve to be assholes, they're internet famous just stop
to be fair a characteristic of the fabulous secret powers video is that it's been reuploaded so many times and has got millions of views with none of them crediting slackcircus; I'm pretty sure yogscast just rotoscoped the most popular one and didn't bother, like everyone else, to check who originally made it I mean if you honestly expected that level of professionalism from some retards who make minecraft lets plays for autistic 12 year olds then you're even more of an idiot than they are
I don't mind Simon, he seems like a nice guy but Lewis just aggravates me, he seems like such a spoiled little child
wow, ok lol. I'm surprised that everyone is focusing on the moral side of the video and that I'm the first person to point out just how fucking lame this parody is.
Oh who bloody cares about arguing over a video on the internet
So they went and made a 10-hour version of their video.
sips is the only one from the yogscast i really like simon isn't that bad either, he's like a big child
That's literally as bad as Tobuscus making 10 hour versions of his own songs. Really whats even the point of doing that?
So the weird people who like it can listen to it FOREVER.
Really whats even the point of doing that?
Doing it before their fans do it and to make more money. I'd have done the same thing.
I remember when the first Minecraft music video was made back in 2009, everyone was impressed by it as they never expected anyone to put effort into making a song for a little indie game. But now the most popular Youtube partners just shit them out every few weeks to make a quick buck off rabid Minecraft fans, this video pretty much proves that it needs to stop.
That's literally as bad as Tobuscus making 10 hour versions of his own songs. Really whats even the point of doing that?
10 hour videos draw in a ton of views these days.
That's literally as bad as Tobuscus making 10 hour versions of his own songs. Really whats even the point of doing that?
Because people don't know about sites like listenonrepeat and can't be bothered to download/buy the song itself. [editline]aaa[/editline] Also what he said up there.
They're all mostly fine human beings, but this is their job and they have an office to run, so they have to make money somehow, unfortunately this tends to lead to unfunny crap content being churned out. But they kind of have to put out a lot to make it self sufficient. They still probably should have credited orig creator.
