On your pool's statistics page, under the Blocks section.
Payout is when the newly discovered block is 100% confirmed, you can mine 24/7 with no ill effects, all you have to do is check your pool's site every once in a while to see your balance.

It's entirely possible your pool went down and it's having trouble distributing coins.
This is an issue with some people.

It's no surprise. Even though it is ASIC-proof there are still enough people out there with powerful GPU-mining rigs. Then once it gains hype as you can see here everyone wants to jump on it. And since it gets spread through gaming and technology forums, where a lot of people have powerful gaming gpus the difficulty skyrockets. I can't mine shit with my shitty gpu, because I am not interested in PC-gaming.
