Because every kid in the world is american.
You're still being a fuckass for implying that kids aren't allowed to be unhappy because kids elsewhere are more unhappy. [editline]26th November 2013[/editline] I mean, shit, its like "Aww, whats wrong?" 'My mom was shot and killed yesterday...' "Hey, cheer up, kids in Syria are getting shelled!" 'I never thought of it that way!' -is happy-
Well I'm glad they lived, when I saw the title I didn't expect them to be so lucky.

I'm also saying that kids like those should be grateful for what they have. Didn't mean to piss you off bro. You're obviously someone with problems that justify you being unhappy.

Thanks for the generalization though. On topic, its rather sad that they're so used to the shelling that they don't absolutely lose their shit when it happens. I mean, its a good thing, but its sad too, ya know?
What I find weird tho is why is it only 1 projectile? Usually when an artillery strike is ordered there are multiple ones to come after, not just 1.
Could have been an FSA makeshift shell and just ended up as a dud or your typical garage brew mortar shell that only just barely works. Most 100mm+ shells have a kill radius of 60-80 meters and lower calibers (like 60-80mm's) are going to have a 20-40 blast radius, by all rights those children and reporter should be killed with shell fragments.

Even so, that was pretty close. Brings back bad personal experiences for me though.
I love how the kids are still smiling later.
Next time they wont be so lucky.
wow that was a shitty thing to say
Man I bet they couldn't hear shit for days after that. That is damn close for them to have survived. Lucky as hell.
Any Info as to who fired the shell?
They didn't get hit, with the size of the explosion if they were hit they (and likely the man holding the camera) would be dead.
Any Info as to who fired the shell?
It's not like theres a little flag being dragged behind the shell, and neither side is going to claim responsibility for a shell that almost killed a bunch of children.
Man, that shell came outta nowhere. One would expect a whistling, unless I'm mistaken. Regardless, those kids are lucky as hell.
