I love America. :patriot:
Heroes of the world.
dont loot
Older than your grandma's crusty tits.
well, would you rather them crush they're car, or be dealt with by the community?
I desperately searched for somthing I could use to help try to defend what these troops did...but there's no excuse. Not cool America, Not cool.
Lol, that tank owned the car
So they wasted ammunition, fuel for the tank, a car, and the best part is THEY DIDN'T TAKE THE WOOD OFF OF THE CAR, circumventing the point entirely AND wasting the wood.
MARINES FUCK YEEEAR
Well they aren't going to be doing anymore wood stealing. Just saw hurt locker and I have quite a bit of respect for soldiers right now and can understand you would do things that wouldn't be considered fair or right in those conditions. I know I would.
Only thing that made me lolwut was that they left the wood.
If I would be as bored as them, and have a tank, and the right to drive over random cars, I maybe would do that to (as long that guy doesnt tell me he needs it for his job, that would make me awwww)

Basically an Iraqi family was caught steeling wood.
The soldiers seemed to have forgotten their goal there, and decided to destroy the car.
Cars are scarce in Iraq.
The man was a taxi driver and said that the car was his livelihood.
His only source of income, shattered.
A pretty saddening video actually.
So because it was his livelihood that justifies stealing? The police don't listen to use and we had no rights to arrest anyone other than as a POW.
Couple bullet holes in the wind shield would of been fine, make them remember what not to do when they get in the car. But running it over with a tank, really?
It'll buff out.
Tough shit.
They could have took the wood of the top.

When you live in a shit country and can barely even feed your family you need to do what you can to get by. He stole like 10 planks of wood. And the american trash destoryed that too. So there was no point in the whole ordeal
hurp durp i am going to base my opinions of the U.S. soldiers off of one youtube video

It has nothing to do with what they stole, it has to do with the principles behind it. If they are going to keep stealing shit and are only going to get a slap on the wrist then it will just continue.
No one was hurt. It was just a fucking car. I guarantee these people will never steal shit again.
It bet these soldiers got a court martial for this. I think what they did violated the Geneva Convention.
would have been cooler if the car had been filled with mines

I've seen this somewhere..i believe he wasn't stealing, he was transporting weapons/explosives (they removed them) or something and they smashed his car as a lesson to show that it isn't going to be tolerated.
They probably stole more wood than there was on top of the car. I wouldn't even be so sure that the guy was a taxi driver. The car didn't look like much of a taxi. I know that not all taxi cabs in the world are yellow, but at least something about the car has to be distinctive so people will know it's a taxi. The guy was probably trying to make the Americans look bad, so he made shit up to tell the journalists that that car was his life.

Part III, Section III, Article 33
No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.
Pillage is prohibited.
Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited.

Fucking hell you're an idiot. ARMY tankers, not MARINES. God damn.

Yeah just a car. That doesn't mean shit to some pampered teenager who lives in the western world. That car was probably one of the only valueable things that guy owned. How would you like it if you stole a candy bar from a store, so therefore I came to your house and just threw your computer off your roof. Really that isn't even comparable but you get the idea.

All taxis arn't yellow. He probably had some sign on his car that was in arabic saying taxi. Or he just yelled at people from the car asking if they need a taxi. Who knows.
That's fucked up. Period.
Everyone's acting like this is so outrageous. After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, there was a lot of chaos and looting. The governor brought in the national guard, and declared that anyone seen looting would be shot on sight. You know what happened? The chaos stopped.
Assuming this video was taken right when the invasion began, yeah, the city was in chaos, and these guys were looting, so he should be happy it's only his car.
That's so fucking awesome, it's not as bad as the Haiti police shooting looters.
Poor wood.

Believe it or not, although they may look poor, they usually aren't. Most iraqis have common luxuries enjoyed here in the states like smartphones, and apparently a lot of them actually do own them.
But also i think the video is just really making it look worse, you don't know the full story behind everything and looting can be punished harshly there.
