I've said it before, but I don't think they'll do that because it would be silly to have this whole revenge narrative and base building stuff wrap up to say "11 years later" and suddenly Solid Snake. It has the potential to be a whole new game, I doubt it will be tacked on to the end of this one. If it is it'll be spoiled all over the internet as soon as those early copies ship.
A lot of lore-important stuff happened in 1984, though. The space between MGSV and MG1 is pretty much the establishment of Outer Heaven, which would make perfect sense to lead into MG1

Frank Jaeger loses his nose and ears and becomes cyborg ninja, Boss meets Naomi hunter, etc

polygon is already raising a stink

Jesus Christ. I'm so glad I booted them out of my RSS. Polygon and Kotaku are such shit now.

Who says that all happened in the one year? Big Boss must have had a prolific career over the following six years, and Frank didn't become a cyborg until after he fell on a landmine in 1999. If it does lead perfectly into MG1, then that's a great reason to make the hypothetical remake a full fledged game.

i remember reading somewhere that both events happened in 1984. At the very least, both happened in Mozambique at the same time. We know the game takes place at least partially in Africa, which is why I think they might possibly be setting up a remake. If there is another game to fill the next 11 years, I don't think it'll be a full console game.
Of course, the game could always retcon a good amount of lore, being that this era of metal gear hasn't been covered yet

the obvious answer is to include a dude in a speedo box distraction
which will probably happen knowing the series
This is the greatest thing since MGS4......

honestly as a hyper feminist the entertaining thing about this is that they don't realize the obvious component that it's saying more negative things about stereotypical maleness than it is about being a woman
it's basically saying that men are fuckin idiots

yes definately an antiquated view of women and not of the men who are oogling over a picture of a lady in a bikini.
