Looking at the pictures and reading that article, it seems that the danger has more to do with the drivers rather than the road itself.
nah, there's rockslides and shit
That episode of Top Gear was really funny. :v: And I'd hate to drive on that.
Shitting dick nipples, I am never NEVER NEVER driving anywhere on that entire fucking continent.
I wonder what it would be like to drive through that road with nitrous.
It's obviously fake, the camera angles reveals it as a total setup. But scary as fuck nonetheless.
Looks like every single road in the himalaya's from my experience. Not even that high
That white car is an asshole. Had a few feet he could have spared on his side.
Reminds me of driving down the Pacific coast here in Cali. Not nearly as high but it's just about as tense.
That white car is an asshole. Had a few feet he could have spared on his side.
it's been said before, there's a deep ditch on the other side, if he gave clarkson room he would have been stuck there in the ditch
My mother used to have to take that road a few times a year for her job. It is precisely as scary as they make it out to be.
That road is almost as scary as an enraged James May wielding a razor-sharp machete.
It's obviously fake, the camera angles reveals it as a total setup. They should've let him drive one of these again.
Who cares if it's set up.. The road exists, it looks fucking dangerous and people have clearly died on it.
I'd take that road in an atv maybe. Definitely not in a full car. Also, this seems to be one of those times when it's actually safer NOT to buckle your seatbelt, so you can get the fuck out of the car if you need to.
I spent the entire video with my hands over my eyes and peeking out yelling "nonononononoNONONONONONO!" This has to be, easily, the most terrifying road in the world.
the road to jalalabad is worse no joke Juma Gul, who owns a fabric shop that looks out onto the highway, said, “The fighting with the Taliban lasts only for a day or two, but the crashes are every day. It’s a kind of theater. Sometimes, a car will fly by in the air.”
vid or pics?
I thought it was going to be that part where James hit his head in the Middle East episode.
I've been on a mountain road a bit like this in Greece. There were memorial shrines everywhere and a very steep drop, really creepy.
The man has balls the size of fucking Jupiter Jesus
I thought it was gonna be this (actual crash at 2:10) Still, the Death Road must be terrifying to drive on
When I was a kid, my parents would travel a lot with the landrover defender which my dad (an engineer) frankensteined from several wrecked ones. We would never visit any big city or camping ground and just drive around in the wild where no other cars could go and roads that no maps would show. I very vividly remember one of many thrilling events when my dad decided to camp in the pyrenees. We took a long dirt road up the mountains that was marked as abandonned and inaccessible on the map. But it went on and on and kept climbing, getting more and more narrow and cluttered with rubble. At one point it was barely wide enough for the wheels and it went on like this for miles. Needless to say 8 year old me was terrified and I have a mortal fear of heights. Anyway, I lived.

He's got balls of steel.
What an idiot forcing him to get that close to the edge, he had like a full meter to give him, but noooo, lets pull up right beside him.
Bolivia is populated with nutters when it comes to driving
Ah that land-cruiser. Gets me wet
