I remember hearing rumors that your block was called Block Garrison, but it sadly does not seem to be the case.

his name is not important
BLM has a point about black deaths in custody amongst other things the media+police try to sweep under the rug
not every black person who gets shot from the police is innocent, yes, but most seem to have just magically gotten a gun and been shot with it, no suspicion at all
BLM has radicals just like every organisation but to call it an organisation that deserves to be mocked is fucking stupid
Seems like a noble cause, until you sit back and realize that whites get killed from cops more than blacks do yearly, and considering that BLM's goal is to fix cop corruption yet only focuses on the black vs white narrative, the group misses the mark on what it actually wants to achieve.
Don't get me wrong though, I understand perfectly the sentiment of wanting whats best for the black community, but focusing on cops isn't going to fix where the problem stems from in the first place, and they completely ignore other minorites/groups that get targeted by police ineptness. Where was black lives matter when an autistic child was killed by two black cops? Obviously they didn't care, the child was white, so the narrative they push was broken.
Then you have shit like this
Plus the Bernie Sanders debacle, way to disrupt a man who seems to actually care about your cause and yet you treat him in the most disrespectful way that you can.
There's also a point that you can make about how they're a twitter hashtag group whatever with no real leaders or organization and most supporters are young impressionable kids who are looking to channel their frustrations for authority and cops but seem to lack the skills to actually make a change, so I guess I'll just post stuff on twitter and retweet vines of police brutality with misinformation because that does a lot.
All controversy aside, it's pretty fun, especially after a few waves when they introduce new types of enemy blocks.
The name isn't going to be relevant in two years but I guess neither is the game so it's smart to cash in on it now.

Yeah... The download is down.

Yeah the button is gone, wonder if it would be warez to upload a mirror, I managed to snatch the game before it happened.
Yeah... The download is down.
Another flawless victory for social justice and tolerance :')
You're allowed to make fun of anything you want, people need to chill out.
Yeah... The download is down.
Is talking about this banned on Neogaf and Reddit?
Apparently devs took it down for maintenance.
You're allowed to make fun of anything you want
yeah, sure. but people are also allowed to call you a fucking twat if you're making fun of shit that really isn't a source of humour, like, idk, rights movements?
the whole thing just seems like a relatively lazy cash-grab a-la Hatred. Something you can throw together in Unity in a few days, with a provocative title and relying entirely on Internet outrage/"anti-PC" crusaders thinking it's the funniest shit ever. not exactly something to aspire to tbh. 5 minutes of fame to be remembered as "those guys that made that weird game about blocks right??" forever after.
"anti-PC".
People got offended, specifically hipster progressive types and had the game removed from stream.

It's very original though. Games are not loved for their technological complexity, it's the gameplay that matters.
I mean it's obviously made to earn money, but so is any game.
And if something got taken down then it's way beyoung calling someone a twat.
satire doesnt need to be this hamfisted is the real point. even sam hyde would be blushing at this dumb idea for a game. think about stephen colbert as the character stephen colbert. he would say things that the audience would oooh or boo or not be happy about and that was pretty mild shit in comparison to mocking or making "socially-aware" video games like this one and that was OBVIOUSLY satire. he would not go on the air and make fun of BLM without actually making a point about how important the real message is.
its been said already but the devs knew their shitty game would fall into the sea of 10000 already available shit games on steam if they hadn't made it controversial (lol). so, who wants to join my team to make a new game about reenacting the paris attacks? dont worry it's really really subtle satire guys! to show how bad isis is! we'll put hashtags in there that people will KNOW its not supposed to be making fun of it. cmon how would you not get that. no we get it, but it's still poor execution, in bad taste and just a dumb idea.

But the satire is on spot and working. You are proving it right now.

Going against the grain and being original is how you market. Imagine Undertale without what made it not mother.
it might be total satire and the guy who made it could been a black dude who lost some relative to the police killing them... but if its this topical and doesnt have any obvious sarcasm you kinda lost your direction
I think the point the devs are getting at is that the game is just a simple top-down arcade shooter with blocks as characters and it would be ridiculous to apply any political meaning to it. And so they did, because it's funny. That's obviously subjective and it could be just a meaningless cash grab but I prefer to think it's just a bunch of dudes that were shooting the shit one day, came up with a humorous title and decided to make a game out of it.
But the satire is on spot and working. You are proving it right now.
yeah this just seems like the perfect subtle satire just like how when I post inflammatory remarks and later go back and say "lol trolled you" this is more trolling than artful satire. just admit it
Trolling is effortless, satire is art.
I dont know how I feel about this. The execution of the satire is really fucking hamfisted, but the mechanics of the game also look really interesting.
To me it seems the game is making fun of the News media and how they cover shootings and the protests.
I mean look at those headlines.

Do you even know how much effort went into the game? More than Dear Esther or Gone Home, Life is Strange, etc. Considering that the SJW horde is ran by con artists and professional victims, I can only say they deserved someone exploiting the shit out of their trigger-itches. It's far from a "lazy cash grab"

Are we talking about the original mod or the Robert Briscoe remake, because the latter required a lot of work and skill. The stuff he was able to get out of the Source engine is pretty amazing.
I'm sure a decent amount of work has gone into this, but comparing the two is ridiculous.

Not true, but even if it was true what does it matter in the context of his post? He is completely right. Hatred was a bad isometric shooter that sold purely on the weight of being "controversial" when the average gamer didn't find it controversial at all and people buying it purely to bite their thumb at the SJW PC Police. He's absolutely right about Hatred and I don't even know how people are trying to dispute him this long after it came out and was universally panned.

Many people genuinely found hatred to be fun to play and even more people loved the cheesiness. It's not a great game, but its still a decent time waster even without the controversy.

The art assets were actually somewhat decent for a top-down shooter, sure. The colour palette worked well for the game, I'll give it that. But it's still a top-down shooter, one of the most simplistic games on the face of the earth to make, in an engine that makes throwing together a game super fucking easy. Even if it did take some time to put together, that doesn't actually mean it took effort, time is not effort.
The fact their entire advertising campaign hinged on outrage and general "what even are you doing guys?" reactions makes it seem hella fucking cash-grab.
