Alien: Isolation Official Announcement Gameplay Trailer

You've got to admit, that trailer at least felt like Alien. Hopefully the game will have the same atmosphere.
i like this alot
but i still want a Obsidian alien game
Well from what I heard one of the main reasons that CM failed so bad was because the main developers outsourced it's development to other companies(Who no doubly developed their own visions on what they wanted the game to be like) including Gearbox who used some of the money and manpower they were supposed to use to develop CM to work on Borderlands instead.
This might be different if they don't outsource it's development.
i like how the end nearly directly called out the previous Alien games. i just pray this doesn't make the same mistake.
I have a suspicion that the game might unfortunately end up being pretty boring unless it pulls some seriously crafty shit with suspense.

It can really be both. Alien was more horror, whereas Aliens was more action-y, so the Alien universe is really set for either.
Aliens wasn't that actiony. The first hour or so was all set up, then there's about 20 minutes of the marines fucking up, and then the rest of the movie is the surviving group trying to get off the planet. Sure it was shooting down waves of Aliens rather than running away from one alien, but they were still running away for the majority of their time on the planet.
I really like the voice acting of the guy in the trailer, and Amanda's gasps when she reacts to things, makes it sound really genuine and stuff. The way the depth of field changes whenever you look at the motion tracker is pretty neat as well, especially how it seems that you can look at the tracker with the background in the corner of your eye, and switch it around so you see the background clearly but the tracker's blurred and stuff.
I know I shouldn't hype myself up, but god damn I'm hyped up.

A:CM was a gigantic pile of shit because it wasn't even finished. Vision had jack shit to do with the game, it was a combination of Gearbox being assholes and taking money that SEGA gave to them to make it and using it for Borderlands 2, and they outsourced it to an incompetent developer that barely knew how to develop. Just compare the gameplay trailers to some actual gameplay, a massive difference. In fact, so much of a difference that Gearbox actually got sued over it.
That ending concept art totally looks like the refinery that the Nostromo was hauling in the first film.
Screw you guys I can be hyped for this and still wait for reviews to decided to buy it or not.
Reading the previews the idea that it's one alien using AI to hunt for you sounds pretty rad.
I love how they used HR Giger's alien design from the first film for the alien in this game.
Kinda looks like

Unfortunately Routine might have the spotlight usurped from it by this, they just look so similar and Creative Assembly is the much larger name here.

Considering the dearth of survival horror games, especially ones set in space, I don't think Routine will have too much to worry about.
I'm extremely excited. CA are passionate about what they do and even with the folly of the Rome 2 launch you could tell they put love into making that game. This seems like a smaller project for them to handle and honestly as much as I hate to say it my hopes are high.

More gameplay

God damn is there a single gameplay video without constant commentary?
Why does everyone do this, why?
I wont even try to get my hopes up, this has a bigger chance of being a total failure than actually being a good game.
DO NOT PRE-ORDER THIS UNLESS PROVEN THE GAME IS GOOD ALREADY IN ALPHA STAGE :v:
How does that even work, a game in alpha can change completely. A good example would be A:CM because the first gameplay trailer made the game look awesome but it turned out to be absolute trash.
I've wanted a game like this so much that it's hard to properly put into words. Trying not to get my hopes up too much, but this doesn't look like it'll turn out to be another Colonial Marines or AVP 2010.
Even hoping for a good survival horror title these days is pretty optimistic.
looks incredibly gorgeous
oh god alien horror FINALLY
I want a Dead Space (The first one) combined with Alien. That would be super ideal

Don't preorder period. Doesn't matter what kind of game it is or who is making it, because preorders feed the same system that brought us A:CM and every other broken release.
If developers and especially publishers have to wait until the game is out and reviewed then they'll be more inclined to be damn sure the game is worth buying in the first place.
As it is, they only need to make the game look good enough to get people to preorder it, it doesn't need to actually be worth playing after that. The only real backlash they get is some bad press, and people will bitch and whine then buy the next game anyway. People who buy games shape the market far more than the people who make them.

One of the reasons we see so very few actual demos that we can install and play ourselves anymore, and instead only see rehearsed gameplay or scripted trailers now. Having only just the word of publishers and developers + the reviews by people who are on their books to go on and nothing else means there's a shit ton of deceit. Kind of like everything you see on late night TV. Oh wow that IS amazing, I need one! Then you get it, it doesn't work, and then breaks when you try because no matter how great of an idea it is, it's always built as cheaply as possible because Money.
I heard somewhere that this will have a 10 hour campaign. I'm dubious.

Dubious, yet excited...
i still hope that you atleast get to use the pulse rifle at one part
i just love the sound of the pulse rifle

The game will lure you into a false trap room with a pulse rifle, thinking you can kill the alien you make way and pick it up only for no ammo to be on it and wham, instant death.
I want a Dead Space (The first one) combined with Alien. That would be super ideal
Nah that would kill the horror aspect when you can just blast your way out of situations.

Dead Space takes all of its inspiration from Alien so that would be pretty pointless.
That CRT radar looks sick as fuck, they nailed the 70s Alien feel
