I want a Dead Space (The first one) combined with Alien. That would be super ideal
As it was stated, the first Dead Space was already inspired by Alien and shitload of other titles belonging to sci-fi horror.
Dead Space takes all of its inspiration from Alien so that would be pretty pointless.
... and Event Horizon... ... and The Thing...
I'm extremely excited. CA are passionate about what they do and even with the folly of the Rome 2 launch you could tell they put love into making that game. This seems like a smaller project for them to handle and honestly as much as I hate to say it my hopes are high.
Gearbox claimed to be passionate to until Colonial Marines was released and the team behind the game was revealed to be masturbating over the fact that they got the game and shoved a bunch of stuff into the game just because. But CA is a more competent developer, so I'm at least excited, if not cautious.
Because there hasn`t been a good Alien game in YEARS. The last good one was AVP2 which came out in like 2000. Most people are just sick of getting fucked over by shitty Alien/Predator games.
This this THIS It's been fourteen friggin' years, just ONE good Alien or Predator game would make me so very happy.
I don't think my heart could handle it
This this THIS It's been fourteen friggin' years, just ONE good Alien or Predator game would make me so very happy.
I still dunno why they're having so much trouble with this. Just let the player play as a Colonist and let em figure out how to survive long enough to be rescued. Or let em play as a Marine so they can try and wipe out an Alien infestation. Or of course play as an Alien and kill/capture anything that isn't also an Alien. I'd kill for an Aliens game that wasn't bound by some stupid linear storyline, especially those with only one possible ending.
This needs to a hit. The Alien Franchise has so much potential and the only games we are getting are really really shit. I thought the AvP was mediocre though, the Multiplayer was fun but the horrible matchmaking and servers ruined everything. That and the Stealth Kills, no one played Marine, everybody wanted Predator because it was so unbalanced.
Dead Space takes all of its inspiration from Alien so that would be pretty pointless.
Except it didn't have Xenomorphs from Alien in it stalking you from the shadows. Apply that to Dead Space and it would be way more suspenseful for me
Except it didn't have Xenomorphs from Alien in it stalking you from the shadows. Apply that to Dead Space and it would be way more suspenseful for me
Necromorphs stalking me would probably make me shit bricks compared to shitty jump scare scenes.

I like how she seems scared instead of going "OMFG It's happy hunting time XD" when she sees that shadow
More gameplay
What he said about how the alien got less scary after dying over and over again, can't this be fixed by doing what Amnesia did by removing the monster after you respawn? That way you see less of the alien and it's more "mysterious". Or they can randomize if, when, or where the alien spawns every time you restart so you wouldn't know where it is and how to evade it every time.
Necromorphs stalking me would probably make me shit bricks compared to shitty jump scare scenes.
At the same time Dead Space games are still most enjoyable, even though I do not have any experience with the third one.
bark bark Im a alien bark bark bark
The FOV looks really tight, and considering I just started getting into maxing out FOV's this will be more than slightly annoying.
The FOV looks really tight, and considering I just started getting into maxing out FOV's this will be more than slightly annoying.
Probably to make things more claustrophobic, I doubt players would feel like the walls are closing in on you if you had what's essentially perfect peripheral vision :v:
Probably to make things more claustrophobic, I doubt players would feel like the walls are closing in on you if you had what's essentially perfect peripheral vision :v:
I'll try and remember that when I start getting headaches it's for the sake of immersion.
I'll try and remember that when I start getting headaches it's for the sake of immersion.
Uh huh. The final game'll probably have an FoV slider (like most modern games), but the default will probably be the one the developers think will be the most atmospheric.
Neither of the other two SEGA games had FoV control until people started bitching about it on the forums.
I totally want a prop one to go with my pulse rifle :v:
Maybe if this was made by Volition or some other dev/pub that likes flashy Collector's Editions, otherwise, unlikely Still, it's something a dedicated propmaker will eventually recreate, and it'll look glorious I absolutely adore the old-timey VFX in Alien and even if the gameplay for this game is garbage I'll still buy it if they nail the visuals.

Man, those music cues and everything. The harsh lightning. The muted material effects. It looks gorgeous, and like a game I'll never be brave enough to play :v:

I'm not even that into the alien movies and this looks cool as fuck. I mean, yeah, don't board the hype train just yet, but goddamn.
Oh man, those music cues towards the beginning. Fuck.
Soooooo from all of those gameplay videos, I'm going to assume going into the airlock is...bad, right?
There's a emergency closet on the side she didn't get to in time, plus it's scripted like that for SCARY MARKETING : skellington :
Soooooo from all of those gameplay videos, I'm going to assume going into the airlock is...bad, right?
Might be one of those adventure game things where you have to make sure you have all the proper things done before going in the airlock
