get real guns kill your friends
Be a man and kill a man, be somebody and kill yourself. On topic: Looks like a lot of fun, sometimes I think it goes a little too far though.
I have to agree. With paintball, you can actually feel when you get hit, even though you have a lot of gear/clothers(whatever) on you, in airsoft, it's hard to know if you are hit or not, you can just say you weren't hit aswell.
Airsoft hurts like a bee sting if you get shot from average range.
Just to go off topic a bit, are there any paintball tournaments with cash prizes?
Yep. Not so much that woodsball/scenario crap though. Xball series such as PSP for the US and The Millennium Series for Europe are leagues taken very seriously with a high level of play and competition. Xball (although there is also a less popular not point based 7man version), is the sport/competitive version based on a back and forth point system where points usually last 2-3 minutes, you score, you have 2 minutes to get air, paint, clean up and you get back out there for the next point and just keep playing until the timer runs out. Teams train on a regular basis and play all over the world. These should give those not in the know an idea of what the sport of paintball is like, and not the hobby thats in the woods. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFWMAT4jAZ8&feature=channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRzRHRy-fIQ Anyway....after all that talk, I can understand where people find fun in airsoft, but its not my thing. Im looking for something more competitive and sport orientated that can be governed with rules and referees, rather than playing soldiers as a hobby (no offense intended to you airsofters because, well thats exactly what it is) so Ill stick with xball/paintball.
ahh looks fun. in my area no one else air softs really. i did finally mange to meet some people with airsoft guns and we decided to meet up in the woods to illegally play (no fields are even close to us, which is funny considering this is pennsylvania) and it wasn't till i got there that i found out; while i had a high quality actual airsoft m1911 gbb, they had 20$ plastic springers from kmart. none of them have any gear what so ever, i had improvised protection (paint ball mask, heavy clothing ect). i still haven't met anyone else D: so i guess i'm just a starting collector.
All me and my friends do is play in lots. Illegally of course, but nobody really cares. And one of their dad's is a cop lol. I have yet to go to a field.

Thats really nice nightvision
Yeah, and in paintball, when someone shoots at you, you actually feel it, because the paintball bullets come at you with some force, it's not like with airsoft weapons, where you'll barely feel if someone will hit you, even in the head. The feeling that you caused pain to the person you shot is what makes paintball great.
This is why you don't buy guns from Wal-mart. Seriously, I've been shot in the head, hand, ass, legs, torso several times from over 100 feet, a BB can keep it's momentum surprisingly well especially when they're the higher weighted BBs. And to the people asking how you know when you're out: Most of the more serious games have guys with guns shooting 20-25 rounds per SECOND with about 300-350 FPS behind each of those those things, you're gonna know when a cascade of those hit you.
I have a M4 looking airsoft rifle with see-trhough plastic in my closet, never got to play with it other than shooting it at stuff in the backyard though. :(

If you're actually going out with people who are serious about airsoft and use good guns (not walmart guns) You can DEFINITELY feel the hits.
two ways to play paintball woodsball or too damn seriously two way to play airsoft backyard or too damn seriously
that looks fun!
lol@people who take airsoft seriously
Omg that looked so awesome, like a real war scene :O
two ways to play paintball woodsball or too damn seriously two way to play airsoft backyard or too damn seriously
It's called a hobby. Better than sitting in front of the computer all day
It's like a real war, except instead of killing, it's guys going "Shit, I'M OUT!"
I like how you don't see anything at first, save for the few lights on the hill, then just a couple shots and the whole place lights up. Pretty awesome, except the guys yelling, "Im out!" and casually walking off made it less epic.
MilSim airsoft is actually pretty neat. Although it does tend to take it too far, it's still a lot of fun. Having medics and shit is always fun. The radio chatter in that vid is pretty awesome too. You don't normally see that kind of thing in paintball. I've done speedballing, bushballing, and airsofting, and overall, I prefer airsofting. Mainly because if you were to get a replica paintball gun, it's going to end up being more expensive, as paintball doesn't seem like it was really intended for realism. Speeballing is a lot of fun too, although the matches usually last only, three, four minutes each, the adrenaline rush as the round starts is amazing. We played a tourney a year or two back, and won third place. There's actually a surprisingly decent amount of ex-military people that play airsoft. I airsoft, but only until I'm out of high school, then I'm joining the Canadian Forces. :D

Googling speedballing brought up something about heroine and crack and bushballing...random shit.
http://www.rap4.com/paintball/t68_m4_field_test_video.html
for the low low low low price of 550$! granted airsoft guns can go for the same price, you can get an exact replica of an m4 for around 200$ that isn't even half bad. although i have been proven wrong that paintballing does not have replica's i do however have a hard time believing some fields would allow guns of this type without an orange blaze tip.
Awesome.
Pretty hilarious how they talk like they are some kind of real military unit.. :v: Interesting though

I played a game of paintball with a guy who used a replica M79 grenade launcher.
Normally I hate airsoft, but this is pretty fuckin cool.
Is there anyway of protecting your teeth because I like a full set.
Is there anyway of protecting your teeth because I like a full set.
Full-face mask.
Jesus Christ it's like a wall of glowing plastic.
A tracer unit would probably be my next purchase(after an A&K SR-25) however Airsoft Colorado doesn't have weekly night games so it would most likely just collect dust in my part box.
Is there anyway of protecting your teeth because I like a full set.
Yep, a paintball mask XD
But the bottom line is, airsoft is just a big "I got you, no I got you!" fest when you're playing competitively. I'm a competitive guy so maybe that's why it doesn't well sit with me. If they somehow come up with an effective marking mechanism for airsoft, trust me I'll be all over that, until then I'll stick with paintball. And Yes I know about paintball pellets, they suck.
no, people who play airsoft are very mature and either one will agree on who got hit or its a mutual decision to both go out
