itt: people hate change (User was banned for this post ("'itt'" - MaxOfS2D))
If Youtube was a family friendly website full of nice people and people talking to their friends who are just trying to find a good cupcake recipe this might be acceptable. Except Youtube commenting is a fucking shithole full of 10 year olds and all this will do is force people to make more fake Google+ accounts. "ChuckNorris'sPenisMan: +RaySipeLadyGaga +Fathoeschannel +AssblasterXtreme +TheDuckChannel LOL suck my dick faggots! #1 comment!" This won't help anyone. If someone wants to find a fucking cupcake recipe they aren't going to go asking in Youtube comments.
-snip, mouse glitch-
I hate it too
They're beginning to delete all negative comments. This is a great example of the new comment approval system. All criticism will be gone whereas all the bots and their mindless praise will remain. Yeah this system sure is great by golly.

As I said, I've been getting this issue as well, but thinking back this happened when they first did the "use your real name and directly contradict rule #1 of our privacy advice", and after a while it turned out to just be a bug, so that might be the situation here as well. at least we can hope so.
than*
Didn't notice that until now. God damnit.
As I said, I've been getting this issue as well, but thinking back this happened when they first did the "use your real name and directly contradict rule #1 of our privacy advice", and after a while it turned out to just be a bug, so that might be the situation here as well. at least we can hope so.
it has been like this for almost a year I would really like to think that this is a bug, I really would hell it might be seeing as how many other features are broken but almost a year they are completely ignoring all the problems held by people who haven't switched over, because their answer is switching over. [editline]dsd[/editline] And I'm just going to cross post this here because I'm seeing similar statements in this thread aside the ones from SH

So youtube is apparently deleting all comments and google+ posts that say negative things about the new comments update. I'm fairly sure this is true, because a video supporting the comment update that previously had 8,000 comments now has 600, and someone who uploaded a video talking about how bad the update his had his account terminated.
It's not youtube doing that, It's the broken system that shares comments between youtube and google+ let's say John McWatters finds a video titled "Youtube Comments Are Inherently Broken And Here Is Why" Now, John McWatters is a Google+ user. He comments on the video in a good tone, happy that youtube is now integrated with his google+ experience. This gets posted to McWatter's G+ page as a thread, in which other people can comment on it for whatever reason. However, since the framework now underlying youtube is the google+ comment framework, that comment gets mirrored on the "Youtube Comments Are Shit Now" video. Beth Anderson comes along, a long time youtube user. This person has some actual common sense and a need to explain why things are awful. He spots McWatter's comment on said video, and comments on it through youtube dot com, saying that McWatters clearly has no idea what he is talking about. However, Anderson's comment via youtube was actually a reply to a thread on McWatter's G+ page. Since there is no way to tell the two apart, nobody knows whether the comments originated on G+ or on youtube. McWatters takes offense to the statement made by Anderson, and deletes Anderson's comment from his G+ Profile. McWatters does not want such obscene language and hate on his profile, as he sees that as what facepunch users would call "threadshitting" Deleting Anderson's comment from his Plus page also removes it from the youtube video, due to how this is now handled. do you see why this is terrible because this is pretty terrible
Does anybody know why comments aren't even appearing for some people? I do not like this
it has been like this for almost a year I would really like to think that this is a bug, I really would hell it might be seeing as how many other features are broken but almost a year they are completely ignoring all the problems held by people who haven't switched over, because their answer is switching over.
I merged my Youtube account and my G+ account. I kept my Youtube username and used a pseudonym for G+. It's not really a big deal unless you use a personal account for Youtube.
I as well made a video regarding the update
itt: people hate change
Actually no, we hate shitty change.
itt: people hate change
I've never complained about any Facebook update, and I was one of the first adopters of Windows 8. I love change. But this is fucking ridiculous. Wouldn't you complain if Facepunch made you use your real name and forced you to link your Facebook account or something? And made it so that replies don't work properly? EDIT: Okay, apparently you can change it so it links to a different empty Google+ account, so you don't actually have to use your real name. But if it already linked your real Google+ account, finding that option requires digging through a bunch of settings before it appears as an option.
honestly though if they fixed the god awful way replies work I'm content
I can't even type in the fucking comment box now.
I love how the majority simply doesn't want this, and says so by posting negative comments about it and thumbing the video down. And yet I'm sure they will all be ignored.
Why can't Google+ be separate from Youtube?
i was pretty much told by my network to tie my youtube with google+ because itll be mandatory anyway and its been pretty much like trying to sled down a muddy hill with patches of ice. shit is terribad. i can't post comments as myself anymore, now i only post comments as what my youtube channel's name is. right now i can't see comments at all on some videos. i also love getting alerts about people adding me to their circle. my channel's google+ page's description is literally "i dont want to do this and i regret it every day". inbox btw still exists for personal messages but inbox right now is hidden on every page except the inbox page itself (there's no way to navigate to it from youtube, except for the inbox page itself which has the old layout??????) which i can get to from my email notifications.
May just be me, but if I hit decline it just asks me again whenever I try to comment.
If you use adblock plus you can add a filter that removes it. I did that a long time ago
it created a google+ account with the same name as my youtube......
Apparently there are a bunch of hired drones trying to defend Google via comments. Pathetic.
also when managing videos, you now have a GRID FORMAT kind of like what they used to have for subscription videos. each thumbnail will only give you three options: play, edit, and delete. you can not find the option to add videos to playlists from there. so after an hour of not thinking of changing it to list form (which i would think is just an aesthetic or organization option), i changed it to list form and found out that you can do that only from there, as well as mass deletions. so instead of an aesthetic layout option it's a "reveal all of your options in the old layout as before" option. it's just an extra click but there's no reason for that extra click when the single file list layout works perfectly fine. another massive layout redesign by the eggheads at youtube/google that we all obviously needed. thanks guys
So if you revert or don't change anything, will your account be deleted? If it would, then time to start archiving my account history when the move to vimeo flood hits.
It's also way easier to block people now though personally I think Youtube would benefit from a whitelist system...

im in that rocco vid, standing behind bryan oh an btw im just not going to bother with anything related to comments on youtube anymore
It kind of sucks when you get a shit-ton of comments daily and you want to read and reply to them, and now it's been made 50 times harder for absolutely NO reason at all. They really need to stop breaking things that were good, and start working on things that are broken.
their feedback page is shut down lol
If you use adblock plus you can add a filter that removes it. I did that a long time ago
Yeah, but as of today, you can't comment at all unless you link a Google+ account.

As someone who is a content producer on YT, i can't even reply to comments on my videos. You know... a major part of SEO and subscriber interaction.
How the fuck do I even go about youtube generating one for me? I cant understand anything on g+ because its such a fucking cluster fuck.
