People take his channel at face value and often fail to realize that the channel name is a hyperbole and most of his videos are hyperbolic or just a joke in general. This is fine whenever he hates something they hate like Minions but the moment he talks shit about what they like or just don't care about that's just, ooh that's [I]unacceptable.[/I]
Also people have some kind of basic offense at the concept of a channel dedicated to hating things like his is. Which is stupid because I guarantee almost everyone who detracts him for running a channel solely based on negativity enjoys something much the same. Most internet content focuses on things that are negative. H3H3, GradeAUnderA, AVGN, Jontron, Brutalmoose, Zero Punctuation, like every retro game review channel in existence, Gordon Ramsey, all kinds of shit. Most comedy, too. Louis CK is a comedian who thrives off negativity, Patton Oswalt and Jim Gaffigan do self deprecation a lot, George Carlin started to be the most negative comedian around later in his career, we [I]love[/I] negative shit.

Honestly, his rants can be funny. Even when I don't agree, he does it in a rather enjoyable way so I watch anyway. And some of his videos are more or less not him truly hating something, it was more requested and stating his opinion on it. He actually does have some regret for the clickbait-y nature of his video titles. Both for being a little dishonest when he doesn't truly hate something and people commenting without watching which leads to some truly bad comments.
BUT, the "Comment Comebacks" are fucking hilarious. You actually get a good sense of who he is in the way he reacts to just awful Youtube comments, even when they agree with his opinion. I nearly pissed myself laughing at the "I Hate Furries: Comment Comeback" videos. He seems like a nice enough guy.
He seems like a much less crude version of GradeAUnderA now that I think about it.

It's like, my friend asked me what was so funny about it, i asked him what the hell is "what are those" and then the next week like half the people i talked to were saying it and consequently i really wanted to punch half those people after a week of working with them hearing it over and over.

It's like that friend you have that wants to come over and hang out, but the college football playoffs are on and you know he's just gonna sit there and complain about it. Can't tell your friend no they can't come over, but can't stand to sit there and have to listen to them tell you how "vapid" and "stupid" and "pointless" the sport is.
People that complain about trends and try to act like they're better than the people that like said trends are infinitely worse than people who enjoy said trends.

its an inside joke blown out of proportion by people who find it funny for a reason outside of the purpose of why the vines were made
i used to know a group of guys who would do something similar to this to each other.
the difference being that whenever they saw their friends who dressed casually, arrive in expensive brand clothing/accessories, shoes, or a haircut, they would overreact jokingly to how fresh they dressed.
