• Half in the Bag: Jack and Jill [OR How Adam Sandler scams the system]

I didn't see this posted, and i'm somewhat surprised. If you haven't heard of Half in the Bag, it's the 2 guys who do the Harry Plinkett reviews [the funny star wars and star trek movie reviews], reviewing new releases, and smaller films. Their last review was of the Adam Sandler movie "Jack and Jill, in which Sandler plays the main character and his twin sister. It starts off as a normal review. Then they explain how "Jack and Jill" isn't just another dumb bad comedy movie, but was a scam where Sandler uses his fanbase and heavy product placement in order to scam the system for major profit for absolutely no real work. [sorry can't seem to embed the videos] EdIt- Warning, this review is also almost an hour long, but it's very entertaining and insightful. http://redlettermedia.com/half-in-the-bag-jack-and-jill/ They really bring up solid points against the movie, and Adam Sandler. Also let's try not making a joke about him taking money and being Jewish.
Fucking love RedLetterMedia. It's long, but they do a good job at reviewing it.
I watched this awhile ago and could only get through the first 20 minutes. As much as I like Red letter media this review got a little stale since they could only show trailer footage. I agreed with a lot of it but I didn't see the movie itself so I didn't really have a clear idea of what they were talking about. They're generally pretty solid film critics but I want more plinkett reviews >:(

You don't need to watch the movie to know, because it's well... not even a movie. They explain that it was really just a huge scam to get money to make the film, and then pocket the money, then throw a "movie" together as quickly as possible. It's pretty interesting stuff they bring up. Even they were surprised, as they thought they were just going to watch a horrible movie, but it turned out to be something far more sinister.
Great watch, well worth the hour length. I love these sorts of delicate, indepth reviews.
Wow. Very interesting. I knew some guys that made a million dollar picture that turned out to be utterly terrible, and everyone I knew including me thought this was what must have happened.
Saw this the other day, going to watch it again. I fucking love RedLetterMedia. [editline]30th November 2011[/editline] Another gem

Give this shit a chance, the Plinkett reviews are good but it's stupid to just go "I want the ones that have the funny voice!"

Now I absolutely love it.
The Transformers 3 review is well worth the watch, even if just because jay has the best use the the terms "Fagshenanigans" and "gay panic". Mike's face when he says them are priceless.

Awe fuck yeah! Another Red Letter Media review!!!
I'm glad they agree that Punch-Drunk Love isn't really an Adam Sandler film. Also, this review is the best review I've ever seen of an Adam Sandler's film
This was posted in another section - http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1117679 But this is a great review as well as all the other RLM reviews.

This was amazing. I love these, how their acting is part bad, part not-bad on purpose, while their points are brilliant.

When the review itself is about as long as the fucking movie and yet manages to keep me there through the entire review clearly something has gone horribly right. This is two guys talking about a horrible movie for an hour... I'm awful for getting bored by them kicking a film that already doesn't have any dignity while not trying to entertain me? I'm not saying the video was shit I'm just saying I found it stale, big deal. Not to say that half in the bag is bad, I've watched quite a few of them from start to finish, I just couldn't get through this one How about you give Twilight a chance and go watch the first 1 / 5 of it and then go back and finish it later.
Wtf? It brought up a fuckload of issues with the movie, and the second half especially is amazing. It tears apart Adam Sandler and potentially exposes a bone fide series of scams going on with his movies. Maybe it's not your thing, but the reasons you have for not watching it aren't right.

It's not very often that reviewers have to read a legal disclaimer during the review.
I like half in the bag, but I wish they'd just drop the "premise" of fixing the VCR and stick to doing the reviewing and stuff. Still, I suppose I can't complain because I just skip the beginning and don't watch the ending.
what?? how can you not enjoy the premise? and how can you say you like rlm if you skip the intro? you're a disgrace [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
I thought it was interesting that plinkett reviews could be so in depth and so entertaining at the same time, often bringing up things I never would've considered but are clearly major issues. they should show more footage from the film itself, but I guess they would have a copyright problem then
they should show more footage from the film itself, but I guess they would have a copyright problem then
where are they going to get the footage? there's none available.
But they said that they didn't pay to see the movie though, didn't they? Did they get somebody else to buy them tickets, or did they use an alternate method?
But they said that they didn't pay to see the movie though, didn't they? Did they get somebody else to buy them tickets, or did they use an alternate method?
They said they were in the theatre so I'd assume they just snuck in lol
There is such thing as press and reviewers getting free passes, or even promotions where movie theatres give away free tickets...
There is such thing as press and reviewers getting free passes, or even promotions where movie theatres give away free tickets...
that too
where are they going to get the footage? there's none available.
pirate it? I don't know, if they don't want to pay for it then I guess I am at a loss
pirate it? I don't know, if they don't want to pay for it then I guess I am at a loss
Pirate what? It's not out on DVD so there's no way for them to get any footage.
Haha. "I have nothing against advertisements..." an add pops up in my video player.
