I'm talking about the colours/looks of the maps.
You guys are cunts. This is COUNTER-STRIKE. This isn't a whole new game with no relation. When this game is practically a remake, people expect improvements and NEW features. Not the same shit that 50 other games already have re-bundled into something that was good as it was. Source looks better than this. I don't know a lot of the players, but I know fRoD is a professional, and this game makes him look like just a "good pub player". So yeah, I am going to fucking stick with 1.6 and Source, but that doesn't mean I want GO making a bad name for the Counter-Strike franchise, because it was great beforehand. Now it's just an FPS with L4D2 level graphics and some cliche weapons that have been put in fucking every shitty FPS for the last 3 years.
GO is different primarily because they're adapting the game for both PCs and Consoles, for cross-console play like with Portal 2. Furthermore, this is being handled by a separate group aside from Valve, although Valve seems to be working pretty closely with them. This isn't meant to be your perfect little bundle, it's not meant to replace 1.6 or Source; it's merely an update meant to bring new players into the franchise. GO is taking the formula and attempting to change it to something both the pros and casuals can enjoy, and L4D2 had nothing wrong with it graphically aside from some odd animations; by far, this doesn't look bad at all either, aside from the lack of color. fRoD and all the other players on the video were adjusting to things, since, you know, changes and rebalancing. It's not like they can't adjust to said changes and get back to pro status. Finally, Counter-Strike started the 'cliche weapons' that everything uses now, and I didn't realize that using an actual weapon that's serviceable actually makes things cliche. Hell, you'd expect them to bump the AK47 to an AK74 or something, but no, they stick with the 'cliche' version that everyone popularizes. And if you're worried about a 'bad name' for the Counter-Strike franchise, you really can't disown CS: Online considering Valve licensed the game themselves.
Shiner, new maps, new gamemode, new weapons, rebalanced weapons and maps, and new engine. So no, not just shinier.
that could easily have been a description of l4d2 as well
that could easily have been a description of l4d2 as well
I enjoyed l4d and I didn't buy l4d2.
Looks like fun on a bun, the graphics upgrade really helps a lot.
I don't know why people are saying it's gonna be shit, I had my doubts when watching the first trailer but I'm watching the hour long video now and it looks fun as hell. I'm gonna boot up CS:S and play a load to get ready for CS:GO.
Who the fuck plays with their keyboard sideways?!
People do it to save space.
