Uh- Colonial Marines? At least OUYA had some form of promise and it technically was what it was, at launch. Sorry, i just can't think of a bigger failure than CM. [sp] I preordered Colonial Marines, yes. I was suckered in by the E3 Trailer. Fuck my life. [/sp]
Having gone to Gaming conventions for that one year it was out and about, you would see so much of the Indie corners being nothing but terrible Ouya devs showing off slightly better mobile games. CM is hardly a fuck up when you realise alot of people personally invested their working career into this shitty box.
I saw someone get the ouya rocco pissed on as a raffle prize. It was in a big ziplock bag and he said he didn't clean it.
What a depressing console. Well what a depressing package really.
What baffles me the most is how people even thought this was a good idea. Why the fuck did anyone WANT an android you plug into your tv for gaming? You could just connect a controller to your phone via bluetooth and bam! Portable OUYA. If you wanted to plug your smartphone into your TV, you could do it with microhdmi which is exactly what I did with my previous smartphone that actually had a microHDMI port. Did everyone really just invest in this because they wanted to emulate old games and play them on their TVs? Actually, I might have supported it in the past for that very reason
OUYA quickly turned into the a TV Nintendo and Sega emulator which caused legal problems with them because of both companies stance on the use of emulators But even then, plug in any computer into your TV or your smart phone, choose your emulator, choose your game, plug controller = wallah, your own personal NES or sega system honestly OUYA had potential to be a great competitor to AppleTV and chromecast, ive said that in the past that OUYA should of been nothing more than a media centre that plays shit but they fucked up And chromecast does all that shit and only costs $30, their loss honestly
It shows their business sense when they keep talking about how gamers are moving away from the TV and that's the exact reason they made a console only for the TV. Hey idiots if people are moving away maybe that's a sign you should start a business that profits off of where they're moving to, instead of where they're moving from.
They probably didn't have the capabilities to bring anything to the video game industry in the first place.
