I like how so many of the facepunchers that have been beaten. Praise their parents for beating them because it made them the great people they are today. Yet they are sitting on an internet forum populated by social outcasts and the like.

I wouldn't say that I'm a social butterfly, but I do definitely get out every weekend with friends. A lot of people on Facepunch are perfectly normal. Don't start generalizing.

If you've heard of positive punishment you might also have heard of negative punishment which is far superior. If you truly believe the only way to teach a child not to behave like a douche is to beat him then I feel sorry for your future children.

When you spank your kid, it creates a positive punishment.
