There is plenty of things I'd like and want, but no way in hell I'm going to work with some people for it.
Bethesda Game Studios only have about 150 employees. The only difference in who worked on the games comes from people leaving the company and new hires.
It used to be 90, before they headhunted bEhavior interactive, it's 150 now, the only title with that many non-contractors as full staff was FO4.
The way Bethesda almost killed Obsidian with the 1 point metascore bonus fiasco would probably stop them from working with them again.
Might wanna check who left Obsidian to work on Prey.

Okay, but considering Obsidian have shown no ill will to Bethesda, and have teased people about a new Fallout game as a joke multiple times, any claims that they don't want to work with Bethesda is pure conjecture.
If you burn your bridges over one bad business deal you'd have very few people to work with very quickly.

That's exactly my point though. BGS doesn't have enough people to work on multiple large projects at once, they can probably plan out their next game during the development of their current game but there's no way they're making 2 open world RPGs concurrently.
Seeing how New Vegas is widely considered to be the best (1st person) Fallout game, and it sold around 4,5 million copies on Steam, I don't think Zenimax would turn Obsidian down.
Obsidian would be much more wary of the contract's conditions, though.
Except that multiple people from Obsidian, including the guy who signs the deals, have said they'd like to do another Fallout game. Bethesda didn't give New Vegas an 84 on metacritic and Obsidian signed the deal with a minimum of 85 as a requirement. It was a crap deal but Obsidian weren't tricked into making it.
And yes, Bethesda Softworks rushed New Vegas out the door for a Christmas launch, but after the massive success of Fallout 4 I would hope they understand the benefit of allowing an open world RPG the time needed for development.
Yes they want to make another fallout game, but who's to say if Bethesda will give them a deal that won't potentially put the company in a dire financial situation again?
The problem isn't Obsidian, I get that they want to make Fallout games but the issue comes with Bethesda/Zenimax's scummy business strategies.

A writer and game designer, not the ones who have to worry about keeping the company alive.
Howard and the head programmer at Beth have said TES VI is like five years out, and that was about a year ago.
I hold out a little bit of hope for TESVI announcement, but it looks like Starfield and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus are going to be it.

As a Designer, I'm kinda actually the guy keeping the company alive, cause I have to make sure the game is fun and fulfilling and will keep people playing the game... so, ya know...
Dargon's Dargmas is selling pretty good on GOG, and the reason why is despite the ultra generic premise and typical generic as hell anime "endless cycle of good and evil and my feels" plot, and the reason why is the game's gameplay and playspace are super satisfying. DOOM. etc etc.

You know what I mean. A designer doesn't have to do the finances.
You know what I mean. A designer doesn't have to do the finances.
But the guy who does have to do the finances has said he'd like to work on another Fallout game if they were given the opportunity. You're just assuming Obsidian are bitter over what happened after New Vegas, which is understandable, and that they'd refuse to work with Bethesda on principle, which wouldn't be good for business.
All they need to do is make sure to negotiate a contract that doesn't fuck them over. I like Obsidian, they're my favourite developer out there, but they've always been pretty crap at negotiating contracts.
I wonder if they will be showing off any Fallout 4 VR stuff
I think they confirmed it months ago.
I need more wolfy and doom, both of those desperately need sequels.
I need more wolfy and doom, both of those desperately need sequels.
Don't you think it is too soon for a Doom sequel? It only came out last May.
Maybe a short stand alone like Old Blood perhaps, but not a full game.
They literally said they weren't working on fallout 4 the entirety of the time they were working on fallout 4 until the e3 reveal.
Well I'll give bethesda credit for announcing games then releasing them a few months later. I remember they did the same for Skyrim

difference here is Todd actually gave an estimate in years.

Yeah maybe you're right, but I dig the combat loop of doom '16 so much I just want more content in high volume. Perhaps not a particularly intelligent desire, but there ya' go :V
Give me some fuckin Wolfenstein
Is it weird that I'm more excited for a new Wolfenstein? The last one was, in retrospect, my favourite game of that year.
difference here is Todd actually gave an estimate in years.
And we all know Todd Howard is a man of honesty and integrity
Have a feeling it'll be Wolfenstein, a Dishonored expansion or DLC (and Prey), Quake Champions release date and new champions, new IP, Fallout VR and potentially a tease for a new elder scrolls or fallout but that's unlikely. I don't think it'll be much more than this, but I am looking forward to it the most
Can't wait for Wolfenstein to go to america, so that the POS called Turning Point: Fall of Liberty can get burned out of my head by something good
If they show off DLC for Dishonored 2, Prey, and then Wolfenstein 2, I'll be so happy.
Plus some more info on the new Quake, it looks neat.

Well, considering that the USA has been nuked, I doubt much of the action will take place there

The only place known to be nuked is New York IIRC

The New Colossus is a poem that can be found at the base of the Statue of Liberty. Which is located in New York. Food for thought.

BJ also recites it at the end of TNO.
