Well, to be fair, it is PUBLIC transportation, which pretty much makes it public property on wheels to my knowledge. As long as there's no damage to said public property, no violence and no illegal substance consumption, I'm pretty sure that anything goes legally-speaking.

If its public transport driver should be making this decision.
Holy shit. I jumped from page 2 to page 5 and you stooges are still arguing.
Then I realized:
I go to Facepunch to watch nerds fight on the internet.
To be honest if I was on that bus I'd be equally pissed. Not because of the jokes, in fact a lot of them were good, but because holy fuck would that give me a headache and oh my fucking god would it drive me insane.
This kinda looks like a bus home after night on the piss. I doubt these guys are just coming home after a tough day of work or anything. The woman didn't even sound that angry anyway.
Late night public transport rides can be the funniest. Not to mention the conversations which make no sense whatsoever.

What is this argument even about.
I figured it would be about feminism because of the title but it seems like it's all arguing about how FlubberNugget is pissing and moaning over the ethics of public transport.
When someone doesn't agree with me they are a troll, it's a proven fact!
Was thinking more about that fact that each side of the "debate" just kept saying the same thing, and people were telling flubber to stop.
i wasnt even a part of it, just stated the fact that i dislike people who take offence in jokes

Flubbernugget didn't find the joke funny like everyone else
Que five page circlejerk about how she's the worst person ever
If its public transport driver should be making this decision.
hell no, bus drivers are only angry mexicans
These ticker-clogging type threads tend to be pretty hilarious on their own to be honest. Nevermind what's in the OP itself.
Would it be okay if this song was about black people?
If so why.
Would it be okay if this song was about Jewish people?
If so why.
Would it be okay if this song was about Disabled people?
If so why
Would it be okay if this song was about Women?

Summary of this thread: No fun allowed, you are disturbing peace and harming others.
Oh wait... this is after England lost to the All Blacks two nights ago. No wonder they're singing rugby songs lol

I think TurboSax describes the situation perfectly, it's up to the majority or the authority. Whatever the majority will tolerate goes until further instructed by the authority e.g. the bus driver.
Well, to be fair, it is PUBLIC transportation, which pretty much makes it public property on wheels to my knowledge. As long as there's no damage to said public property, no violence and no illegal substance consumption, I'm pretty sure that anything goes legally-speaking.
Besides, in this kind of situation, the house rules also come into play, as in what's tolerated by the establishment owner and what isn't. In this case, if it was a private bus line, the owner and anyone he/she designates as a rule-enforcer could say "no singing" and boot anyone off who does. However, if it's a public transport, and not a private business, then standard public conduct rules would likely be enforced instead (no physical assault, no illegal substances, etc.). I'm pretty sure getting a crowd to join into a series of jokes isn't illegal, unless it turns violent, hate-crime-esque, or otherwise illegal.
As long as no one is breaking any laws then, to my knowledge public transport conduct falls into crowd rules, i.e. majority rule. If someone cracks possibly-offensive jokes and everyone but you likes them, you're in the wrong, and you won't really be able to do a thing about it except get off the bus or join in. Likewise, if the same person cracks jokes and everyone dislikes them, he'll likely be stopped since the majority disagrees with him and wants him to shut up.
Basically, unless it's a bus line run by a private company with rules that the drivers enforce, everything short of violence and other blatantly illegal things falls under the crowd opinion rather than law. Everyone's having a good time laughing and singing, excepting you personally or a couple others? You have 3 options; get off, join in, or tolerate it. It's a wild place run only by the people and the most basic of public conduct laws, so you're really at the mercy of your fellow passengers and those basic laws in terms of what events are going on during the ride.
Short version: Unless it's a private bus line with specific rules, you can't really do shit about most of the passengers singing, joking or otherwise partying on the bus, unless it's blatantly illegal. It's a good part of why you hear so many strange stories about bus rides, especially ones on school buses. It's a swirling miasma of crowd-fueled chaos on wheels, and your only options are to either deal with it, join in the fun, or get off the bus. It neither justifies nor demonizes what these people are doing, but it does explain how and why they can do it.
I think that jokes about anything should be okay. Have you seen the tons of jokes about 9/11?
Tons of people died, but here at facepunch, we sure do crack some jokes about it that gets loads of funny ratings.
To be offended is stupid, if you get offended by something, just stop getting offended and the problem is solved.

They should all be acceptable, because they're jokes. As in, not sincere.

If you get offended by something when no offence was intended, that's a problem and isn't what normal human beings act like.

Yes. Jokes never hurt anybody.
I'm so confused how was any of that funny?
Like I'm not offended or anything. I just don't get the jokes.
The fact there's 5 pages of it.
i don't have much else to do at the moment, so yeah, i'm kinda just ranting on. but i'm hardly being pissy about it

Just sexual references, "Mein shaft" "four fingers." etc.
It's humor based on irony (i think).

Lmao
the blackface exploitation in america never hurt anyone?
blackfacing played a significant role in cementing and proliferating racist images, attitudes and perceptions worldwide.
Jesus fuck how can you be so uneducated on this subject yet still willing to have such a huge oppinion about it.

It was mainly them singing unfunny sex jokes.

If you can give me one example of a time when blackface directly caused harm to a black person I'll concede. Blackface never hurt black people, the KKK did, racist lawmakers did.
