It's been a day and it's only very barely noticeable at this point
Pretty cool, but it wore off within a day for me. [editline]18th September 2014[/editline] Also, to be honest, I was half expecting a jump scare.
one month later, lines are still tinted red and green. this shit is nuts.
Fuck I just viewed the video and it worked, now I read all these posts saying how it's still working after a month Guys, I'm scared.
Sorry for the bump, but I seriously can't believe this. I just remembered this effect and decided to look at the grates again, and while the effect isn't that potent anymore, I can see a yellowish tint in the horizontal lines and a maroonish color in the vertical ones. It's been over a year and it STILL has an effect on me somehow.
I'm actually kind interested and scared at the same time to do this. I think I'll try it tomorrow.
The fuck I remember this shit the lines are still red and green for me fuuuu
I just did this, I was seeing green and red until I willed my perception back into seeing it has black and white. I stared at this shit real long too. It's all just an illusion. It's how your brain tries to fill in the gaps between the black bars. What you are seeing isn't actually color, but it's like tasting color with your eyes or some shit when it's associated with that same pattern. However, what I can't remove is this small slightly invisible grid-like mark in my vision now.
Unlike most here, when my eyes start saying"what the shit is this stop" I listen. I felt cross-eyed for a minute just looking at it... You know, this might be a strange comparison, but considering that this is a neurological effect it reminds me of the movie Videodrome.
A year later, I can still see the green quite potently. The red has worn off, but if I strain I can see it.
this did fuckall to me. Maybe being colorblind has something to do with it
So, yeah, I watched that video more than a year ago, and those fucking lines still appear light green / light pink to me. I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch that video tbh, this shit's pretty scary
decided to google black and white lines. Like stuff that is mixed with vertical and other degrees works.
Someone look at barcodes in a store and see if it shows up Red or something
This thread again? It took me 8 months to get rid of this effect. I was wrong, it's definitely not the super power I wanted. For those who work in design, this shit's gonna give you headaches when working with any sort of stripes ( even real life ones, like metal bars and shit ).
Just so you guys know, I know this was mentioned on the first page, but I saw the green and red before even watching the video. Idk how, I've never done one of these before. After watching the video they are a slightly different tint though. Before I watched it, the green was closer to a blue.
I realized after watching the video that I work with written word a lot, and I was afraid text would trigger the effect. Luckily not. Though barcodes are red. That is the only thing that has really triggered the effect in me so far.
yeah fuck this shit. Stuff that can fuck up vision for people that don't even suffer neurological disorders should be bannable content. Not watching that shit, I hate persistent effects.
if you don't work in design this shit won't bother you at all actually, i did this 5 months ago and I can still see the effects in op's image but i haven't noticed it elswhere at all what if it's all just a placebo effect though
I hate spoopy stuff like this. Im intrigued and want to try it but at the same time YogKog said he did this a year ago AND ITS STILL MESSING WITH HIM. ;-;
I hate spoopy stuff like this. Its fine, and doesn't trigger in normal everyday life unless you are a fashion artist that works with zebra print or some shit.
It was fairly noticeable to me, but it's faded completely now after about three hours. Staring at the black/white patterns for a bit seemed to make it go a little faster.

It's only remotely dangerous/inconvenient if you look at stripes/bars all day, or you go all-in and watch the induction for half an hour. [editline]12th October 2015[/editline] With that said, I still see the effect after over a year :worried:
I hate spoopy stuff like this. Im intrigued and want to try it but at the same time YogKog said he did this a year ago AND ITS STILL MESSING WITH HIM. ;-;
it's interesting. i just did it. can't say that it's particularly awful, but I didn't hyperfocus on it for the solid 3 minutes - i let my eyes dance around a bit, looked at the edges of the grids for a couple seconds etc. on the other side of it it's really just the main image that you can see the difference in, and some (rare) images that include lines that are really close together. for instance, googling images of grids does nothing - everything still looks perfectly black and white. but if i google black and white lines some of these images - specifically the ones that feature small lines grouped close together - illustrate the effect. interestingly though I am pretty sure that I remember some of these images expressing this effect before doing this - perhaps I did this years ago and just don't remember? or maybe there's some property about our eyes and how they interact with black and white lines who knows maybe in a month i will have lost my mind and begin murdering en masse, but i have a feeling i wont

Luckily I only see the effect on the test images right now
What if the grid is actually a glitch in a reality simulation? We've been living in Tron this entire time probably

3 days after watching, the colors are so faint they are almost not there at all but I can still see them.
Watched it for 20 seconds (turned it off because the bright colours were getting to me) and I can already see a reddish tint that's crazy. I can't imagine what would happen if I watched it for the full 3 mins.
It's been 40 minutes and the effect persists. Oh boy. :frown: I couldn't even see the effect when looking at it before the video. Such fun I'm having looking at coloured bar codes. Amazing.
