24 bit with 88.2 is what I learned was "studio quality" for editing sound for music.
so this is the music equivalent of those screenwriting programs with genre formatting and stuff

You're gonna be down sizing to 44.1k when you put your tracks on a CD anyway so it's negligible if you use a higher sample rate for audio tracks in the studio. You can, and some people do, but for the sake of harddrive space it's not really needed.
