Is it just me or I can't stand the 40s style hand on hip thing? I found it a little cringeworthy, even though its perfectly fine since it fits the period.

I love that antique hardware they're using more than the music. That's good, sure, but dat old timey mic. Mmm.
i never knew that song was about fat acceptance. disgusting.
we went from fat shaming to skinny shaming
The pianist looks like a less angry looking Trent Reznor and Ken Levine, and all th emore relevant cause of his Bioshock stuff.
I love Cristina Gatti's voice so much
when she starts singing in a different language I cant contain my rager.
i never knew that song was about fat acceptance. disgusting.
...How did you not notice?
Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two But I can shake it, shake it Like I'm supposed to do 'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase And all the right junk in all the right places I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop We know that shit ain't real C'mon now, make it stop If you got beauty, beauty, just raise 'em up 'Cause every inch of you is perfect From the bottom to the top Yeah, my mama she told me don't worry about your size She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night." You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along Because you know I'm All about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass, no treble I'm all about that bass 'Bout that bass Hey! I'm bringing booty back Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that No I'm just playing. I know you think you're fat But I'm here to tell ya Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top
I'd say the 'Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top' part is the more important bit, since it's the refrain, but idk.
That's a great attitude that will get you far in life.
It's hyperbole. A song isn't going to make a little girl think "I am literally perfect in every single aspect", but she might hear it and think "Wow, this song is saying that it's okay to not be unhealthily thin! Maybe I can find beauty in myself rather than feeling that I have to change myself to fit society's expectations!"
Am I the only guy here who loves Puddles voice?
Am I the only guy here who loves Puddles voice?
The cover he did of Chandelier is amazing, it's so depressingly beautiful.
I think the piano player is the guy who does most of the writing because he seems to be the only consistent person in all of the videos. Also turns out these guys actually wrote some songs for Bioshock Infinite
Yeah he actually did a full cover for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (if you haven't played Infinite it's used as a song on a Merry-go-round)

Shame the game doesn't have that much replayability. :v:
Shameless plug, but I cover a bunch of hip hop as jazz, here's some examples if anyone's interested! (They're mostly unfinished though) No Diggity: Blackstreet & Dre What's my name? Snoop: Gin & Juice snoop:
To me it depends on what pop song they are playing. For instance, "all about that bass" still sounds like a boring piece no matter what kind of theme you play it in. Of course it sounds 100 times better than the originals though, because they are played with real instruments by skilled musicians without any pitch correction or anything.

That said, I don't think pop music and the likes necessarily need to have an amazingly complex composition because it works when it's catchy and simple.
Black Cat Zoot (only their first album, I think) and BBVD are pretty good modern swing bands.
So pop music doesn't suck on its own it's the people who make it who do?
Holy shit, Fallout is supposed to be in the future which still looks like the 50's right? Imagine these guys doing a shitload of popular songs (well the ones they are doing already) and let that be the soundtrack of the new Fallout game
