Is it just me or does the sound design feel out of place? Like they're outside in space but it's still very loud. Maybe I'm just spoiled from the fantastic sound design of dead space or something
I remember seeing this live and thinking it was some new IP that looked badass. I actually shouted "WHAT?!" when the COD title came up.
If the game didn't have the CoD brand, I'm sure it'd get a much more positive reception
My headcanon is, that their helmets have devices on them that detect the vibrations from the outside and translate it into sound that is played by speakers inside the helmet to give them better situational awareness.
When he puts on his helmet it actually says something about simulating sound.
It just looks like the dude has low gravity in the space bit.
It's actually nice to see how hard they are committing to the future setting, having actual spaceships instead of just people in mech suits
I really like the aesthetic. Looks like it takes place in modern times if we got lucky with rocket science in the 50s and poured money into setting up space colonies in the 70s and that's what our world would be like today. Advanced Warfare looks more futuristic than this
When he puts on his helmet it actually says something about simulating sound.
So basically the same thing Shattered Horizon did where sounds are simulated in the suit but if you turn off the systems theres no sound except for the vibrations in the suit from your own gun.
I remember in a Infinite Warfare thread that It'd eat my own words should the space segments in the starships be 100% player controlled. From the looks of this trailer, I just might have to. Consider me hyped for a CoD game!
If the game didn't have the CoD brand, I'm sure it'd get a much more positive reception
Well, the COD brand comes with infinite amount of resources and money, so it is logical for people to be more critical when the final result is mediocre. Not to mention you were picked up at the end of the mission, so there is a high chance you were just shooting while he was flying.
Jesus that trailer has so many dislikes. So is now the anti-cod bandwagon a thing now?
Jesus that trailer has so many dislikes. So is now the anti-cod bandwagon a thing now?
The CoD hate thing was never really popular because of its MASSIVE fanbase. Now it seems like people are starting to get the idea, but it just happens to center around the most interesting take in the series so far.
A lot of CoD fans I know dislike IW because it looks too different.
Jesus that trailer has so many dislikes. So is now the anti-cod bandwagon a thing now?
Far as I've seen, since Modern Warfare 2 or so, it's been kind of a cultural thing for CoD games to have mountains of haters. Funny for them because nobody cares what they think, if people like the game it's going to sell and they're going to make another one.
When he puts on his helmet it actually says something about simulating sound.
Yup:
Probably the first CoD I buy since MW3
Yup:
In the comments of the video there's someone seriously complaining because there's sound in space. Like holy shit its a video game. :v: At least they're paying attention to these details.
I'm pretty interested that Kit Harington is playing a villain in this. I'm cautiously optimistic though because this is a E3 showcase, but you never know I guess.
I hope this has Shattered Horizon Space combat
Yup:
Just before that it mentions a laser microphone, so i'm guessing that it's picking up any vibration it finds and translates that into sound. Anything it can't get with the laser microphone it simulates. I'm hoping you can go into Silent Running and have all hud elements turn off + harder movement to be invisible on the radar, like in Shattered Horizon.
I can't wait to see how many people are going to hop on the anti-COD bandwagon then proceed to get the game this Christmas lol.
Really not digging how the MC lurches to a stop in zero g whenever he uses to the grappling hook.
My headcanon is, that their helmets have devices on them that detect the vibrations from the outside and translate it into sound that is played by speakers inside the helmet to give them better situational awareness.
There aint no vibrations in space if you are not touching anything, so those simulations are based purely on visual input
mm ship/ships (networked) and/or suit could have arrays of laser rangefinders with complete spherical coverage, and ~future tech~ means they're accurate to sound wave amplitudes with computers fast enough to sample at rates usable by a powerful computer to turn into usable sound environments Also did I miss something; why are they boarding the ship? Are there shields preventing the barrage or something?
