I'm in between funding this project so I can support and get some nice swag saying I supported to others, or card packs in hearthstone. I say in between because while I respect this project, I question it's longevity during alpha, early access, and post release. I don't know if it would be wise to put $20 in a project that has a chance of being dead, it's happened before with interesting and solid projects.
These guys seem pretty dedicated, considering they've been doing this kind of thing since 2009.
I have a bad feeling this won't be as popular as it should be because it's no longer connected to Gmod.
i think its partially this, and partially that these kinds of games aren't really alluring for a lot of people unless they have played something like GMT. like, i wouldnt be interested in this if i hadnt already realized GMT is actually pretty fun to play around in overall, rather than just another boring social game full of weirdos.
You have to remember though that this is now half their original budget (which they didn't reach in the original campaign either.) It's also unlikely they will keep this pace up, there is always an initial surge, a secondary surge then it's all uphill or downhill from there. But this time they have an ace in the hole. Indiegogo allows them to not even have to reach the requested amount, and they will still receive all the funds. So be super careful putting your money into this. Less money then projected usually means they will release a shoddier product or none at all. They aren't under any obligations to finish it with Indiegogo either. I know people say don't call it investing.. but that is literally what this is. It's not that I don't like the idea of the game, but we don't know if these people can't manage their funds.
i have seen a few crowdfunds that are a fair bit off in their final 4-5 days, then they get a final surge of people who are interested but were putting off paying for whatever reason, or people who weren't planning on funding it during that stage but didn't want to see it fail. their page does address the second part; [img_thumb]https://res.cloudinary.com/indiegogo-media-prod-cld/image/upload/c_limit,w_620/v1437507033/x7s7wmsqexvr3psdnn1o.png[/img_thumb] they probably cut planned content for EA at least pending the future success of the game which just sets the project back a bit and may lead to an earlier EA release or one with less than originally planned.
From the time I am typing this, Tower Unite only needs 390 dollars to meet it's 50k goal!
