[sp]That or the suit can go transparent. A head swap would be a lot more interesting.[/sp]
[sp]You can see that the suit cannot, the rods on the shoulders go through his coat in the elevator scene (5:00).
When he has the head-swap collar there's no bulk from the suit (6:18).[/sp]
I gotta admit, that Kommandant's outfit looks pretty rad. I love the combination of traditional WWII era with clunky 60's sci-fi tech.
I very rarely get hyped for games anymore but Machinegames made gold with New Order in my opinion, and I'm super excited for this installment. The little things like the dialogue & tension in that scene were pitch perfect.
I really love the worldbuilding in the games, even something as simple as reading through the timeline gives me the chills.
This nazi oozes Colonel Hans Landa and I love it
"The bad guys are Nazis" is a really quick and easy way to get the player to hate them, but I really appreciate that they go the extra mile with writing and characterization to really make them awful bastards.
Never played a Wolfenstein game in my life. Worth it to try this one?
Never played a Wolfenstein game in my life. Worth it to try this one?
Play New Order first IMO.
It is $20 on steam.

Definitely, games like to throw around with their campaign being 'cinematic' but Wolfenstein The New Order really pulls it off good when it comes to feel as both a game and as if you are in some kind of movie. That and you have the Old Blood which is the prequel to Wolfenstein the New Order (and set some time after Wolfenstein 2009)
Play New Order first IMO.

It's $4.15 over here for the next 24 hours.
Likewise, The Old Blood which is a prequel to TNO is $4.45 on the same website
Isnt it implied in TNO that his german is much better? He seems to speak decent german when talking to Max when he's hiding the project Whisper files
He can speak the language, but his accent is atrocious, according to Wesley
Why does every Ratzi who thinks they've run into BJ Blazkowicz, a man whose singular actions have killed more Germans than the Spanish Flu, decide to double-check and make an arrest? I guess all the reasonable Nazis are off looking off the edges of cliffs or loudly talking about their wife and kids.
He can speak the language, but his accent is atrocious, according to Wesley
Though you'd think that wouldn't be as much as a problem when compared to The Old Blood, seeing as the nazi-dude could just assume he's an American who's only just getting used to speaking German, like the rest of the country.
It's probably just a Gordon Freeman type deal, I'm pretty sure BJ didn't talk out loud in New Order/Old Blood either, just internal monologued to himself.
Yeah, BJ rarely talked in game, most of his talking is in cutscenes.

TOB wasn't quite as good as TNO for me, but it's still a solid game and does have it's moments. If you've got cash going and want a bit more Nazi stomping definitely pick it up. TNO is a solid game through and through.
I just wish Machine Games would let their shit run at > 60 FPS without it turning into a Benny Hill sketch.

Oh shit yes, thanks for the heads up

Part of me thinks BJ just doesn't want to open his mouth in case he goes off on one. I mean, he could easily kill his way out of that situation, but it'd draw attention he probably doesn't want. And where would we be without a modern Wolf game that doesn't have BJ awkwardly interact with a Nazi?
100% confirmation that Hitler is really still alive. Maybe he'll appear in the last game.

Or he might be treated as a revered eternal leader like figure.
[editline]26th July 2017[/editline]
Anyways, TNO had a soldier saying 'Heil Hitler'
This isn't the first time Hitler has been referred to.
Old Blood/general spoilers, my speculation:
[sp]Hitler is probably around, but something's off.
an assassination attempt is mentioned in the newspaper articles you can come across. the attempt failed - of course, it's unthinkable that the great father of the nation could die - and the assassin was successfully caught and hanged for great justice. so the state-owned media claims. this is probably a reference to the original Wolfenstein, part of the canon-splicing across the franchise's different installments that The New Order rolls with
in The Old Blood there's a diary entry from a researcher who gets to meet Hitler. he doesn't seem like he's all there, his handshake is weak and cold, his complexion is pallid and there's an odd odor about him. coincidentally this prequel deals with nazi occult research involving ancient alchemy that can reanimate the dead
a probability: the assassin - possibly Blazko - killed or nearly killed Hitler and then escaped. the incident was covered up and Adolf was reanimated/nursed back to health using esoteric superscience and now walks about as Zombie (Cyber) Hitler[/sp]
TOB wasn't quite as good as TNO for me, but it's still a solid game and does have it's moments.
too much stealth for my taste but i loved the setting

part of me kinda wished he stopped, looked at the poster, slowly turned around and looked at BJ and quickly walked away
brb getting strawberry milkshake
It really bothers me how the milkshake always sounds like it's almost empty
It really bothers me how the milkshake always sounds like it's almost empty
I hate this trope in anything it appears so much, like yeah I get it, you need a sound effect to demonstrate that a liquid is being moved through a straw but that sound means its fucking empty
maybe there's a hole in his straw
I know it's been touched on before but the dialogue and atmosphere is really Tarantino-esqe
It reminds me alot of the bar scene from Inglorious

such a great scene

I hope the game itself has a lot more moments like these
So, media sites will have the ending today

My money's on the gunshot being the Nazi but his helmet flew up before impact
My money's on the gunshot being the Nazi but his helmet flew up before impact
Unless BJ's disguise is really baggy, he wouldn't be able to hide the suit. So I doubt he is wearing it here.
You can see in the E3 trailer, that the suit pokes out of his clothes. It is visible
Isn't he dressed as a fireman? Shit's baggy
My money's on the gunshot being the Nazi but his helmet flew up before impact
someone in the twitter replies mentioned it might be the guy over the counter who shoots which sounds feasible
Lots of game sites were able to play the game recently, came across an extended gameplay of the wheelchair scene.

FYI, the doom and classic games thread over in the general games section is where we talk about Wolfenstein
I made a Megathread like 2 years ago but it died
"That the Fuhrer is a great author and painter!"
Sounds like someone is still bitter over that art school rejection...
