Security guards have no authority, and how the hell is that trespassing? It's public fucking property! You have obviously never experienced modern culture first-hand.
A campus is not public property. A campus is state property. When on campus, if your not in class or on your way to class it is considered trespassing. Most of the time no one will say anything to you, but generally skateboarding on campus is prohibited in school rules. If they were students of the school the guard can confiscate the board for the student to pick up later. If they are students they likely could be expelled. The skaters are in the wrong here, not the security officer.
lol
Fuck, this infuriated me like hell.
I hate douchebags like these.
Meh, I'm on the skaters side on this one. The security guard was kind of a dick.
I don't know the laws in America, but is he actually allowed to take anything of theirs? Is he allowed to use brute force to remove them too?

That such a dumb question?
it's not a dumb question so much as you said "He should be" before you edited that out

basically this
tresspassing =/= grounds to take someone's property
you call the real fucking police and they deal with it, my uncle's a security guard at a very frequently skated place and that's what you do
EDIT: it's like if i decide i want to walk into your house, that doesn't mean you can steal my car that's right outside or vice versa
Why do the skaters always take the blame? Jesus, I can go skate somewhere once and get treated like I'm a serial killer.
[editline]12th April 2011[/editline]
Fucking stereotypes, how do they work?
lol how he charges the guy then apologizes about it.
I'd roll them over with the cart.
They're both kinda dicks.

In America you'd probably get shot by the homeowner for that. Just saying..
I don't know why people like to skateboard anyway.
Every time I try to skateboard I fall on my face.
i got a camera
i got a camera
In America you'd probably get shot by the homeowner for that. Just saying..
regardless
I really don't know what to say. For the most part, most skateboarders I know are nice. But there are those dicks I wish would get arrested. I also feel sorry for the guard because he probably knew they wouldn't listen to him because of this rent-a-cop mentality everyone has. Its a shit job that you can't really do anything with because you're not a real officer. Hell, you can't even protect the grounds you're charged to protect. All you can do is stand there and tell them, then watch and be disregarded....Its actually a really stupid thing and I am glad this security guard tried to do something.
If I get rated dumbs, fine. For those suggesting to call the cops, the kids would be gone by then and all that would happen is the security guard would get laughed at. Most cops hate SGs because they know they're the ones who have to take care of any situation. The lack of power given to SGs is pretty much why.
On property? Steal property!
I mean of course fines are the usual way to go about trespassing but i guess "collateral" works too
They were both wrong. Skaters in the way that they didn't go when they got told first, guard in the way that he lunged at them obviously just out of anger, and tried to take the board. If i were the guard i would give one warning then call the real police and tell them to send at least two cars so they could all fit.

Related?
Also, that father has two daughters and a dog present, what a bad influence on kids, man.
those skaters are bad punks
fuck
How come whenever skaters are asked to leave, they never do? Can't they just walk away, why do they always have to argue?
How come whenever skaters are asked to leave, they never do? Can't they just walk away, why do they always have to argue?
because nobody video tapes/uploads skaters having a polite conversation with secruity guards and then leaving.
it's not the fact that they don't, you just don't hear about it.
it's not a dumb question so much as you said "He should be" before you edited that out
Do you think the kids should be allowed to trespass and generally be dicks (Which they probably were before the camera was rolling) while the one guy who will actually help stands there and phones the police?
Laws are in favor of the criminals in most cases, and it shouldn't be like that
The guy genuinely seemed like a nice guy and it seemed that he was just irritated because the skateboarders were being dicks before the camera was turned on. Take 1:20 for example, He apologizes without even thinking twice and the skateboarders still give him some crap in the background...
Of course they fucking gave him shit, HE FUCKING PUNCHED ONE OF THE SKATERS
They were in their full right if they chose to give him the smackdown he deserved, but they didn't, who's the bigger(lol) man now?
The skaters seemed pretty calm to me, if he had given him back his skateboard they probably would've gone away. Though I can't really say who is right or who is wrong since we can't see the "full" video.

How exactly are they douchebags, they were on their own campus, so they weren't trespassing, and they were leaving when they got told to leave, even though they don't had to, only reason they stayed was because that rentacop STOLE one of the guys skateboards, and then he ASSAULTED one of the skaters, and then attacked the cameraman later on.

I think the actual punishment for trespassing should be enacted, not the kneejerk reaction the security guard gave
you seem to think security guards should be able to do whatever the hell they want and that's dumb
