17200 is where it sounds like loud tinnitus to me and anything above that just sounds like faint rattling cans
Fuck me, it just cut out completely at 14kHz. I didn't think my hearing was this bad.
Is that... Bad? It cut out around 13900 for me [editline]11th July 2017[/editline] Okay with the tone generating site it's going higher, particularly in my left ear. Between 14500-600 there is a faint feeling of sounds, but after that all ceases.
I hope you're not implying the game's not for you due to your bad reaction caused by age, because that'd be cause for alarm at such a young age.
Oh it's certainly not all because of age, but I can definitely tell I'm not as good at FPSes as others these days, even given similar levels of practice. Though my hearing might not be that bad, I used the site on the other page and got to around ~17.2Khz before I couldn't hear anything, which seems decent enough for someone my age.
http://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/ use this site for finding where your hearing gives out. it's 14.6 khz for me. I'm old.
I can still hear up to 16,475 Hz in my right ear, 16,350 Hz for my left, but is it wierd if i can still feel up to 20 khz (i cant hear it but i can feel it ringing through my head)? Is that bad, considering i'm 19? I think that probably has to do with the two occassions i got nasty ear infections and temporarily lost my hearing in each individual ear for about a month each (at different times of course, and twice for my left.)
this is a pretty useful website in determining the quality of your audio. lower quality audio will contribute aliasing which causes you to hear incorrect frequencies when doing tone generator tests. http://www.audiocheck.net/audiotests_aliasing.php also i think this blind test below is more reliable in assessing your upper limit hearing range than just a sine wave being played on its own. the way it works is, it will play white noise containing 0-22kHz frequencies and white noise with a range of frequencies removed. you have to be able to tell the difference between the 2 samples of white noise to actually determine your upper limit. This test minimizes the affect of aliasing with noise. for example can you tell the difference between full range white noise and white noise under 10kHz? ok, now what about 18kHz? you are a god if you can pass this
Despite becoming partially deaf from loud music and construction noise, I can still here the squeal of the horizontal sweep. Even more incredible is that I could hear an extremely high pitched bird deterrent that gave me a pain in my ears and a headache.
Wow, I can't hear it. I was sure I'd be able to hear it. [editline]10th July 2017[/editline] Shit, according to this: I can't hear anything past 15600Hz
Wierd, mine cuts off at around ~18000Hz
Wierd, mine cuts off at around ~18000Hz
The audio in that video doesn't contain any frequencies over like 17.5kHz due to YT compressing it.
The audio in that video doesn't contain any frequencies over like 17.5kHz due to YT compressing it.
now i feel bamboozled
Only 21 and I'm at 14.4khz
been a week and it's climbed to like 15k :what: Tinnitus?
