I wish this video went more into how they "respected the science" I already knew about the body swpping theorem but every time they were talking about the science all I thought about was the episode where they all get younger because they fell into some really hot tar
kaptainkristian just annoys me now. His first couple videos were good because his style of video essays wasn't done before, but this is just so meh. It's so formulaic. It's basically a Wikipedia summary with some Adult Swim style editing sprinkled in. Then he repeats how they DEFINED the genre (or some shit) over and over to get the circlejerk started. And boom, everyone eats it up.
What exactly about the video is formulaic and shallow? I honestly can't see it.
The Amazonia episode has always been my favorite. I don't know why, but most of the jokes just work for me and is just very quotable overall.
Good fundamentals make up for lack of dunking. *all the men laugh*
What exactly about the video is formulaic and shallow? I honestly can't see it.
It's mostly how he never really says anything substantial. He spends most of the video just saying how impactful/great/genre-defining the subject matter
I don't really understand. I re-viewed his Adult Swim video and the whole thing was a good explanation of the history of the channel and how it revived all it's shows. I didn't get the vibe that he's just repeating the same shit over and over again. Are you sure you're not confusing his repetitive tone over a repetitive message?

I've only had issues with this video and his Gorillaz videos.
Maybe he should put more time into his videos. For something with not only the production value but writing of his earlier videos (Adult Swim and Calvin & Hobbes), I wouldn't mind waiting a full month instead of once every two weeks for his videos.
It's a real shame that his Calvin and Hobbs video got taken down. I think that's his best video.
Unpopular opinion but I was more emotional on Idle Hand's ending than Jurassic Bark or Luck of the Fryish.
Luck of the Fryish hits me a little harder than most cause I had a relative pass away around the same time I saw it.
As I said before, most of his videos are fantastic. I've only had issues with this video and his Gorillaz videos.
Okay, good, it's not just me. I loved his Adult Swim and Superman videos, but this one didn't really say anything. Just "it's good and did good things."
It's a real shame that his Calvin and Hobbs video got taken down. I think that's his best video.
Wait, why was it taken down?
It wasn't taken down, just made private.
It was actually made private; here you go.

It wasn't taken down, just made private.
Has he said why he made it private in the first place?
Has he said why he made it private in the first place?
It was unlisted due to copyright issues.
The episode that made me emotional was when Leela met her parents. The ending montage where they're constantly watching over her in secret as she grows up in the orphanage was tugging at my heart strings.
What exactly about the video is formulaic and shallow? I honestly can't see it.
Read the Wikipedia articles on the stuff he talks about, and then try watching it again.
It was unlisted due to copyright issues.
the lawyers for the Watterson properties are fucking ruthless with fan content, they attacked the guy who did Hobbes and Bacon so he'd stop making the comics despite him constantly saying it was fan works, not the original article, and wasn't selling any of the content. It's pretty sad
