If they just have the gameplay mechanics of Battlefield one with a Star Wars skin I would be totally OK with that
Man, I love it when trailers sync things up to the action.
Darth maul's saber was so satistfying

I'm excited for the Imperial perspective as well. Everything in starwars usually shits on the Imperials, while the clones, rebels, and even battledroids get their moments to shine.

It needs always-perfect hipfire to be a battlefront game, though
I'm curious as to how long they've been working on this one because to go from what Battlefront 2015 was to a game with all three eras, space battles, and a campaign sounds like it would take what, three years to end up good and polished while learning from the reboot's mistakes?
I hope that it can at least be on par with the original Battlefront 2, it's not too much to ask for 64 player battles across 3 eras.
Dice seems to be incapable of balancing Battlefront 1 enough as it is, but if they make the vehicles not power ups, make heroes a reward for skill rather than random pick ups, and have more than 6 maps on launch, it might be decent.
Nice to see something from the Empire for once, but it's weird seeing as there's no female stormtroopers in the EU and they're just using it casually.
It looks like the campaign is gonna take place between Episodes 6 and 7 and the other eras are going to be locked to multiplayer, skirmish. and those wack tutorial/survival modes the "first" game shipped with.
Hyped for clone wars
No instant action no game
We sort of got Instant Action in the form of Skirmish in the last one.
I'll hope they arent stupid enough not to include the feature at launch this time.

I don't give a fuck what people say about the prequels but if Clone Wars isn't the tightest shit you're objectively wrong
This looks like the company's message is first and foremost "We heard you, we'll fix it," and I'm actually excited for it. I love DICE, and I know Disney restricted them to using the Empire era exclusively, so maybe they convinced Disney it would have printed money had they allowed all eras.
Main overarching story that takes place between ROTJ and TFW? Possible female protag? Is that a fucking singleplayer campaign somewhere in there?
throw in some space fights and i'm gonna lose my shit. also: hell yes more rey.

If it's playing anything like a battlefront game, it will be like battlefield 1, following multiple stories from the star war (as opposed to the first world war), which is implied in the trailer, showing battles from the current era, and the jarjarbinks film
Oh boy! Pre-order bonuses, that's a good sign!
(and totally not indicative of their marketing plan)
Every game nowadays has a pre-order bonus.
Even fucking Yooka-Laylee had a pre-order bonus.

I mean hey, that would be fucking excellent for the Star Wars universe. What BF1 did with the pretentious heroic bullshit doesn't work in WWI because WWI wasn't a war about heroism, it was a united war, a WORLD war, not just fought by a few individuals. In Star Wars however, that's completely the opposite of what's wanted. Heroism is very much embraced in Star Wars with major key figures being the main driving force of the series.
I don't have high hopes, but it couldn't be any more underwhelming than the first game, at least.

Was classic BF2's singleplayer having the player play as a single hero? I can't remember.
Doesn't mean that they'll keep to that format, they'll choose whatever is more fun
Looking great but hey that's how it sold on first.
Can't keep my hopes up.
If they're going to have all 3 eras then there must be classes.
If I don't get to roll into battle as a droideka because they don't use classes, I am going to die.
if they actual build upon what they made in the first battlefront and add at least HALF the features from the 2nd original battlefront, then it'll be a good game. if they fuck it up and just do a repeat of the first game, this is an obvious avoid.

As far as I remember, the story of BF2's "campaign" was playing as one of the regular clone troopers, going from Republic to the Galactic Empire's battles.

Droidekas were fun to use. Optimal at tight space but you attract so much fire.

During the battles themselves you played as the 501st infantry, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader's personal regiment up until the battle of Hoth. The narration/cutscenes are all from the perspective of one trooper who's there from Geonosis, though. He's the closest thing you have to a 'protagonist.'
I fucking hope the Campaign(s) aren't just gonna take me like 6 - 7 hours to complete and pretty much be throwaway content, I like sinking my teeth into something and that's just not long enough for me at all.
please less DLC that segregates the playerbase into a dozen groups
If they actually copied Battlefield this time around it would actually be a much better game than Battlefront (2015) was.

I would be really disappointed if they turned battlefront into a sprint n' stop ADS-based shooter, personally
one of the things I liked about Battlefront 2015 was that you could still play it as a run and gun shooter with zoom being just that, only a zoom

With how dice is moving with battlefield 1 (premium friends) that won't really matter if they go the same route in battle front 2, because you'll still get to play the new maps if one of you're friends has premium, you just won't earn xp

Knowing ea, this will probably be what they use, if it works in their favour with bf1
I noticed that there are three AT-ATs in the city with the red tree. 64 players maybe? Another thing I didn't see until way later was that there is a fleet of CIS/clone ships (Including troop carriers) in that last game cover picture. Battle over Coruscant, pretty please?
I liked the last game a lot despite its flaws so I'm hyped. I don't see them doing a "war story" campaign this time around however. I mean that girl is clearly the main protagonist judging by the game cover.
If they made it like old battlefront 2 I'd buy it in an instant. That game is still amazing now and if you don't own it, go buy it and play with some friends.
