His blog post mentions an inquiry for someone with some modding experience to lend him a hand for something. Might just be to help the recording process, but I can't help but wonder if he wants to change the scene by being able to kill friendly NPCs.

I think that's because Freeman doesn't want to listen to the suit's robotic voice that irritates him. Also charging your armor so it can absorb damage isn't really realistic.

My memory of Half Life 2 and it's episodes is very fuzzy but when do you fight along side Vortdudes? I can only think of the Alyx defence in Episode 2

They're basically in charge of the base where you're given the Antlion-controlling ball. They do some fighting there, but yeah, most of their vortal combat is in Episode 2.

The part he's talking about should happen about a minute into the next video, you climb on top of the red train car and drop in through the roof and there's the vortagaunt and guy watching the TV and the vort charges your suit

I also just remembered that you have to swim a little bit before getting into the train car, so he'll be wet when he gets zapped. That can only be a good thing...
