I remember the last stream being just a huge agreement corner where everyone thought they have the left figured out, not really feeling like listening to this now if it's just more of that.
You must have never heard of Sargon of Akkad before
I know what kinda guy he is, I don't know what kinds of guys his current guests are. Last time JonTron struck me as even more politically illiterate than me yet very eager to play along with Sargon and the other guy was just straight up calling the whole left delusional communists. If these guests are the same sort of deal no thanks.

Didn't watch all of it but there's definitely a more varied group of people with differing opinions as opposed to just 3 people like last time.
Sky just told everyone on stream that he figured out that he was gay when he was 7 years old and a bully choked another guy and it made him really horny so he thought about bouncing the bully's dick, what the actualy fuck.
time stamp?

He was the sort of guy who went to Gamergate talking point streams and got shit on by both the genuine misogynists and the poorly-informed social justice warriors for being too moderate.
From what I've seen and been involved with, it's best to not get involved with any extreme and to make your own mind on things. If you feel like you're slipping down the slope, then climb back up and don't go down the other slopes. I think think both PDP & CO along with the involved journalists slipped down the slope. I think the joke in context was just a shitty joke, though his humor isn't of my interest, and those calling him a nazi are lacking priority. But words are wind and fools carry a large spectrum, can only hope nobody gets their life ruined over some stupid joke.

Fuck if I know who that last guy (not Sky) was, he may very well be another regular for all I know.
Boogie is a very well-rounded individual.
I can't believe you've done this mate.
JonTron's channel is imo one of the best on YouTube but everything I see this shit it bothers me, as terrible as this is going to sound I just hate his opinions: it seems like he just doesn't know the meaning of the word nuance. And all of this discussion is entirely principles based, much like any politics nobody is even pretending to give a fuck about economics. Not just in this video, I mean I've seen him do stuff like this before.
JON. Why are you doing this my dude? Please stop. You're being misled by someone who calls himself a liberal, but is in almost all regards an alt-righter.
JON. Why are you doing this my dude? Please stop. You're being misled by someone who calls himself a liberal, but is in almost all regards an alt-righter.
If you are trying to imply Sargon is racist then just please stop. He isn't.
I just clicked at a random point and Sargon and Kraut and Jon were making shit up about Cultural marxism, so lets end that meme once and for all.
conspiracy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankfurt_School [Emphasis Mine] It was never funny to begin with.
If they do believe in it in the form that it is a conspiracy, then I guess that sucks, but I really don't think that is the focus of this discussion. Even assuming he does believe in it in the form you present it in, it has no bearing on the rest of the discussion except perhaps for motives.
If you are trying to imply Sargon is racist then just please stop. He isn't.
??? How did you take me saying "Sargon is an alt-righter" as "Sargon is racist"? Not all alt-righters are racist.
??? How did you take me saying "Sargon is an alt-righter" as "Sargon is racist"? Not all alt-righters are racist.
Because I don't understand how the term is evolving. Initially it wasn't the case but I thought most centrists jumped ship on that label after the the idiots who take the nazi memes too seriously took it over. At the very least, I am pretty sure he doesn't identify as alt-right and I remember him remarking on the shift as well. [editline]?[/editline] What is alt-right?
??? How did you take me saying "Sargon is an alt-righter" as "Sargon is racist"? Not all alt-righters are racist.
Fuck mate, if Sargon is an alt-righter in your eyes then that term is absolutely useless.
Fuck mate, if Sargon is an alt-righter in your eyes then that term is absolutely useless.
I'm just one dude, lol. Alt-right to me is someone who believes in stuff like "cultural marxism", and stuff like that. Language is based on experiences, dude. Semiotics and shit.
I'm just one dude, lol. Alt-right to me is someone who believes in stuff like "cultural marxism", and stuff like that. Language is based on experiences, dude. Semiotics and shit.
Yes, and so in that regard the fact that you used alt-righter in, what I took to be, a derogatory context, was either unwarranted due to the vagueness of language, or otherwise was unwarranted due to it not being descriptive of Sargon insofar as he doesn't identify as it. The fact that you mentioned it in a derogatory context was furthermore a reason why I assumed you took it to be linked to racism. I don't think the alt right necessarily has any link to cultural marxist theory.
My bad, just saw a video of him debating an Alt-righter. I recant my statements!
He panders a lot to them with his love of identity politics but he himself is just a classical liberal/libertarian. edit: well, even that is pretty weird. Let's just say he can get a little contradictory at times. But overall he fits into those
JON. Why are you doing this my dude? Please stop. You're being misled by someone who calls himself a liberal, but is in almost all regards an alt-righter.
Sargon and all of those 'YouTube political commentators' that were born out of the GamerGate clusterfuck all seem to more have the political alignment of 'a bit of a knob'. I feel like guys like Sargon are like all grown up versions of people who used to post on 4chan. He means well, but really he's not a positive addition to political discourse, those two things combined means he comes across as a smug arsehat. [editline]17th February 2017[/editline]
He panders a lot to them with his love of identity politics but he himself is just a classical liberal/libertarian.
He knows because of his start that his core audience are people that consider themselves "anti-SJW".

On certain things such as equality of opportunity or freedom of speech he is steadfast, but short of that he is very good at, when he is trying to be, being civil. He shitposts because he enjoys it, but when he gets serious he rarely if ever has said anything really all that disagreeable to me short of, perhaps, a bit more support for capitalism that I would allot.

So on the Youtube front Gamergate became "survival of the shittest" really damn quickly.

I see a Sargon video pop up in my feed and I don't know if he's going to be a knob or be cool, so I'm not going to click it because chances are he's going to be a knob. Then of course him being a knob generates hate among his viewers and hooray everything sucks. I feel like these YTers are partially to blame.

He has a clear argument and he makes his points well. He points out moral inconsistencies and uses that to apply it to known cases. -Other videos, following on the trend of known cases, are him going over a video, mocking some parts of it, and replying to others in terms of what he believes or otherwise pointing out logical incongruities. -He has a weekly series called "This Week in Stupid" where he basically does the same as the above but to all the newest content coming out of what he calls "the regressive left". -And lastly, he has pure shitposts. He has a seperate meme channel for those where he puts less effort into his videos. He is not afraid to offend, but he is not racist or misogynist as far as I can tell. At worst he subscribes to a certain degree of environmental determinism.
JON. Why are you doing this my dude? Please stop. You're being misled by someone who calls himself a liberal, but is in almost all regards an alt-righter.
A black dude can't be racist nor facist. Sargon is black due to his ancestry
Well the thing is that careful analysis of journalistic practices can only keep a channel afloat for a couple of months at the best of times (which Gamergate was, in that case), but fearmongering and circlejerks can go on indefinitely. He constantly looks at new content released by the people who espouse the beliefs he wishes to attack, and he explains why he is attacking them. While there may be some videos where, given the implicit audience knowledge, certain things are omitted in lieu of mockery, that mockery can usually be traced back to a long and well thought out video/argument.
Because I don't understand how the term is evolving.
New way of saying "bigot" because someone disagree with someone on the left.
Alt-right had a meaning at a point but right now it's fairly nebulous. It began as actual internet fascists, who very rabidly supported trump initially, however the term has expanded to include just generic neocons/right wing populists, provided they're young and find pepe and milo to be the height of humour.
He jumped ship due to an issue concerning sjw mistreatment.
Not really. But it's also not that he's being "tricked" by "liberals" as his original post put it. If you listened to the stream of him and sargon, he came right into it believing all kinds of wacky right-wing shit. You can dislike SJWs without doing a full 180 and going full retard. And hell, his twitter has had lots of it too if you wanna peruse.
A monster the left created.
Can I blame SJWs on the right too then? And again, you can oppose something without completely flipping yourself around. It's not some team game where you have to go "ugh, this element of the left annoys me. I'm jumping ship completely, fuck the poor lol #maga."
