didn't tf2 launch at like a 20 dollar price tag with 3 (4 if you count EP1/2) other games bundled in
TF2 launched with 6 maps and no hats.
And people got tools to make their own maps very early on.
I wish there were more armor types for ST.
What other armour types were there in the OT though?
Unless you select Scout Trooper or Shadow Trooper you spawn in armour appropriate for the map IIRC.
So on Hoth you're a Snow Trooper, on Sullust your a Magma Trooper etc.
It's because you can play Shocktroopers in-game probably. Wouldn't want to get them mixed up.
Oh right, if you spawn on the Emperor you're a shock trooper.
Stormtroopers without helmets is the dumbest thing they could have possibly done with customization.
Agreed

That's actually nice so I take that back. Again I haven't watched much of this game.
They could've had admirals, commanders, stuff like that as outfits. Then it would make sense for the face customisation since you would be able to see their faces anyway.

I know, but people didn't complain about lack of content then, simply because tf2 had a large amount of depth to the gameplay.
It could be the same way with Battlefront.
To play as a Scout trooper you need to be rank 40? :why:
Also that giant Sullustan head looks like a fucking rubber mask, its incredible.

I'm not sure how much of a community Battlefront 3 will have after half a year or so. It seems to me that most of the earlier Battlefront fans will stick with the earlier Battlefront games and the fans of Battlefront 3's gameplay don't really have that much to stick around with. One of the big things about TF2 was the fact that few other games could match it and it had a large content-creating community already in the works, thanks to the fact that TF2 used the same modding tools as Valve's other games.
I can already see the average Shadow Stormtrooper player being the same type of guys that used the black camo in Battlefield 3

Well they probably scanned it from the original face mask :v:
I know, but he looks the most rubber-maskey out of all the Aliens.

im pretty sure they didn't complain because it wasn't 60$+a 50$ season pass.
TF2 isn't really comparable either since the game's been running for eight years, with new updates (on PCs) that are completely free. Besides the whole buyable items factor that has a lot of luck involved in getting them genuinely, but still. And this is ontop of going F2P.
Battlefront DICE has less content in its vanilla release than recent Battlefield titles, and a $50 season pass that adds a notable amount but might as well be a pre-paid expansion pack to a ridiculous degree. Couple that with a game design that removes a lot of the more developed factors Battlefield/Battlefront were known for (especially designing the game around rambo'ing with no class elements, a shitty partner system, and no VOIP), and the game will probably successfully capitalize on the Episode VII hype - and then die in a month or two in terms of server counts, with brief revitalization once the DLC content comes out followed by death again. It's literally designed to be a jump-in-and-play-Star Wars popcorn shooter, and there's just no longevity in that.
This game could be really worth it if they at least gave some free maps/content and didnt put it all behind a paywall. For every DLC, why not give 1 map, or piece of it for free? 1 Map+mode its from for every piece of DLC.
That would be 4 free maps, and 4 free modes, but only having access to 1 part of each. Give people a taste of the DLC and they would probably be more keen on buying it and the game entirely.
What's the Battle of Jakku DLC
What's the Battle of Jakku DLC
a single free map, and even that has a pre-order bonus attached to it
What's the Battle of Jakku DLC
chances are jakku is being relased latter purely to capitalize futher the hype for ep VII and to prevent any major location elements to be spoiled.

TF2 was also a million times better game that was worked on and polished for years, also those 6 maps were almost perfectly balanced and had lots of different variety in terms of cover, strategy, vertical options, etc.
This just seems kind of like a meh/alright game with not that many maps and the rest of the maps are going to be payed for DLC.
a single free map, and even that has a pre-order bonus attached to it
2 days early access

As far as i know there aren't any that aren't already in the game, but that shouldn't stop them adding more. I thought the lack of content could have been because they were only using things seen in the movies, but considering they've added Shadow Troopers and Magma troopers that doesn't really make sense. It's disappointing that this is the first new canon Star Wars game we're getting and all they've added is 2 very slightly different Stormtroopers.
I'm so glad my pre-order didn't go through. fuck this game
At this point it feels like EA is killing game franchises on purpose.
